What RV roadcare do you recommend?

Right now I'm split between CAA and Camping World's Roadcare program. Both are roughly the same price ~$80, but CW has no mileage limit, unlike CAA. Just wondering what other people use and what cost it is per year? Also, does it cover US & Canada?

We have Progressive insurance for our RV and it includes roadside service...not sure about Canada, but for the U.S. definitely.

I have an "add-on" to AAA. Honestly can't remember how much $$, but worth it. We actually had to use it once & they were very prompt, brought the correct equip to tow us & towed our MH to where we needed to get repairs done.

We had AAA for our TT. But after we moved on to the MH we switched to CoachNet. I did a lot of research and found many complaints about most of the other service providers.

I have Good Sam ERS. I actually used them recently. They brought two trucks. They towed me and my T@B to a campground and my truck to a repair place. (It was Sunday afternoon, so everything was closed). The repair place fixed my truck early Monday morning, came and picked me up, and I was going again Monday morning. I don't have the deluxe where they pay for your travel delay expenses, but the campground was a Good Sam campground and since I arrived on a flat bed truck, they gave me 20% off instead of 10% off.

If I remember, mine was $79 the first year for Good Sam members, and then it will be $110 a year after that. It covers all four of our cars and the T@B. AAA Plus RV wanted $166 a year for the same coverage and I think they have mileage limits.

I've had AAA Plus Rv for both of us and it runs close to $175. Have also had Good Sam ERS and our new trailer came with CoachNet for a year and from what I've read on RV.NET CoachNet comes highly recommended and in Oct I'm going to renew CoachNet and next Apr drop the AAA down to AAA Plus just for me since the wife will never need it now. I have never used any of them for anything RV related.

I have AAA for myself but use it only for the discounts (The Fort, Lens Crafters, theme park tickets). I have Good Sam ERS for the TT and vehicles. I haven't decided yet if I'm renewing or switching to CoachNet. Roadside Assistance is going to be hit or miss for most folks, not everyone has a perfect experience 100% of the time, but you can put the odds of a good experience in your favor by going with a program aimed at RVers. No matter your preference it is best to have something in place in case it is ever needed.

I also kept basic AAA for myself for discounts at the Fort. The discount pays for the 45 a year for that.

I just checked out CoachNet and looked into the pricing. What I did not find were the differences between the Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus plans.

Any one out there familiar with these different levels? Looks pretty good.

Our insurance with Progressive covers it plus we have AAA RV Plus. I have thought about getting something different but just not sure. Our new rv has roadside assistance through Ford so I think I should be covered for now.

I have heard good things about Coachnet too and may go over to them at some point.

I have CAA. My wife has the regular one with low milage on it. I have the RV one which has higher milage and will also tow my trailer. I would perfer if it had no milage limit on it myself. It covers both Canada and US.

We have roadcare with Progressive also, but we also have Coachnet... Coachnet rocks - it hurts to pay for it, but if you ever need it even once for a tow or a flat - it paid for itself a million times over.

We had Good Sam last year, used them once, no problem. This year we went with the Camping World program.

Thanks for all the options! I've been very busy the last few days, so when I get the chance I'll look at all the options on the net and compare.

Check out Coach-net at http://www.coach-net.com/cnet/Club_4Panel_Bro_0207.pdf. The gold level is adequate for most people.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to sign up before we head for the Fort in August. Just need to consult with the Chief Financial Officer of this organization (also known as the CEO, Head Chef, Queen, Vacation Travel Planner Extroardinaire and DW!) but it's looking like the cost is roughly equal to a what a tank of gas will be by the time we head out :rotfl:

A tank of gas in what? It costs us nearly $500 in the MH for a tank now! :(

When looking at the different road service options pay attention to the details, especially towing limits. AAA Plus or Premium will only tow an RV up to 100 miles.

This doesn't sound like a problem unless you require a heavy duty wrecker. There are many places that don't have HD wreckers readily available. About 8 years ago we had taken my Dad's MH to Carlsbad from Dallas. We got 15 miles out of Carlsbad and the radiator blew an end cap. The nearest heavy duty wrecker was in Artesia, 55 miles away. You get charged for the deadhead miles the wrecker has to run when beyond just a few miles from their base. Unfortunately, since my Dad was not with us, his Good Sam ERS wouldn't cover the tow and I didn't have it myself at the time. IIRC it was something right around $500.

I have used Good Sam since I bought the 5th wheel in 2003. I haven't had to use them myself, but my son has been getting my money's worth out of them with lockouts, battery problems, brainless college kid stuff.

For those that don't already know, Good Sam ERS and Camping World Road Service are both managed by Affinity Road and Travel. I have no familiarity with Coach-Net.
