What Rosa at DDE just told me

I just called to order my DDE card and spoke to Rosa. I have read a couple of different things on the boards about not having your card in time. She told me that she would be sending me a letter in the mail today and I should use that in the parks, as my card will probably not be here in time (going in late May). I told her how I had read that you had to pick up a temp card at Epcot and she said that you only do that if you are going to Disney in the next day or two (they wouldn't have time to mail you a letter).

I know others have been concerned about having to go to Epcot first to pick up their card, so I hope this helps. I'm certainly glad I don't have to make a special trip to Epcot on the first day just to pick up a card.

My letter arrived today! Ordered 4/12 so it took a week to get the letter. It's on official WDW letter head and says my card is good thru 5/31/2006!

You aren't going until late May and they don't think they will be caught up by then? Ouch.

Rosa is very nice (I spoke to her twice), and I wouldn't call just to ask her this, but I keep wondering if anyone has asked about the mystery of what it takes so many months to get a card. I've resigned myself to using my e-mail letter in May (I ordered on 3/23, going to WDW on 5/11) but I am just so curious as to why it's taking so long.
