This is our 1st WDW family trip and we want what would be the best room/view location at the AKL. I was looking at a savannah view room and also the standard/club level room. I wasn't 100% sure on the standard/club level of what all it offered over the savannah view room? Is it worth the extra $$ to have the club level versus the savannah view? Will I still see the savannah or will it be a view of the pool or something. This is for the kids to be able to have the experience of their life and well me and hubby too:goodvibes Any input would be great. Ok, enough questions/posts for tonight, LOL:rotfl: Gosh, this resort picking is TOUGH STUFF, LOL:scared1: :surfweb:

You can get club level savannahs.

BUT if you want a real treat, how about an AK villa?

I haven't stayed there (yet), but numerous people here have said that ALL club level rooms at AKL are Savannah views. :) That made our decision to stay club level easy. We think it's worth it for the snacks they have out all day and the safaris that are only offered to club level guests. There wasn't much difference in price between Savannah view and club level, but with all club levels being Savannah views, it's all that much better.

Like for you, our trip of a lifetime is next year to AKL. We've been saving for a few months already and are going to be saving up until our trip so we're sure to have the money to do the things we want to do. We're also taking the time to plan everything out so we don't miss anything (which we did on our last WDW trip).

Good luck on the planning! :)

While we have never stayed there, we were looking into a savannah view room. We ended up opting for the Poly, since most of our time would be spent at MK and Epcot.

I say go with the savannah view and go with club level if you're not on a meal plan. We used deluxe dining for our trip 1/16-1/20 and had so much food that we opted to cancel our club level rooms at Poly for August, take the 30% off bounceback, and stick with deluxe dining. Remember you have to be at the resort to take advantage of the food offerings in the conceirge lounge. We spend most of our time at the parks, so it wouldn't be worth it for us.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic trip!!!

Choose the club level if you're spending a lot of time at the resort. The food is fabulous up there. It's nice to grab a quick breakfast, and a late afternoon appetizer (which was dinner for us a few times). But when we stayed there on the club level, we spent a lot of time at the resort (it was over new years and the parks got so crowded it wasn't funny).

If you're spending a lot of time at the parks, it doesn't really matter.

AKL CL is the way to go. I am pretty sure all CL rooms are savannah views on the 4th floor. You want to request the Arusha Savannah on Zebra Trail. There is a thread that has a map. You want to be about middle way up the horshoe. This resort has a wonderful perk to CL guests and that is the ability to book the sunrise safari. It is very cool and worth every penny of staying CL. It was the highlight of our trip. Don and Juanita in IPO are wonderful to deal with and I dont have enough good things to say about them. Definately go CL at AKL:thumbsup2
