I do not belive we have a water view.

Thanks

Hi again. Check out my web site for the map and locations of the rooms. My family and I love the cabanas section becuase we like being close to the DigSite. 8a is our favorite but its a personal choice. Good luck deciding.

Hey Buzz,

Would you mind answering some questions about CSR: Can you tell me about the entrance to the rooms. Are they easy to get to on the second floor or do you have to wander around (like CBR). Where are the stairs located? At each end or corner or what? What rooms have you used in Bldg 8A? Would you recommend a first floor? The path from Bldg 8A to the Dig site looks like there is only one way into the pool area by going around some landscaping, is this true or can you access it directly from that Bldg (8A)? Thanks for any help you can give.

After reading about CSR on your great site and the links you provided, I think we've decided on that resort and Bldg 8A looks good to us too.

Can you tell me about the entrance to the rooms. Are they easy to get to on the second floor or do you have to wander around (like CBR). All the buildings have elevators. The rooms that we have had we close to the elevators so we never had far to go. I think for the most part they are easy to get to. The hallways sort of zigzag. Each portion of the building pretrudes further out. See in the picture below

Where are the stairs located? At each end or corner or what? If you look at the pictures on the Magic Journeys site, you can see stairs at the ends and the elevators in the middle.

What rooms have you used in Bldg 8A? We had the corner room on the first floor of 8a about 50 yards from the entrance to the Dig Site and about 100 yards from the bus stop. Very nice. but for the life of me can not remember the room number.

Would you recommend a first floor? It's a preference thing. We perfer the first floor but the cabanas only have 2 so its not bad either way. You have to keep the curtains closed because the hallway goes past the windows.

The path from Bldg 8A to the Dig site looks like there is only one way into the pool area by going around some landscaping, is this true or can you access it directly from that Bldg (8A)? The is a walkway/stairway to the Dig Site from the main pathway. 8a is on this main pathway. Depending where you end up in 8a, you could be 20 feet or 100 yards from the path to the Dig Site. It is really close.

I think this picture is 8a. As the path bends to the left, the entrance to the Dig Site is just out of view. We had the corner room on the right of this picture by the light green lattice. 2 windows but you can't keep the curtains open so its not big deal to have a corner room. We got it as a free upgrade.

I second the cabanas. We stayed in 8B in March and were so close to bus stop #4 and close to the Dig Site. Going to El Centro was maybe a five minute walk with our 2 year old ~ a nice walk after dinner.

WOW! Buzz, Thanks so much for all the info and the great picture! There is so much info to absorb, I will have to go back over the sites as my time gets closer!

Thanks again!

:)

Piglet203 and I will be at the CSR in just 31 days!!!!! We have requested a room in Cabanas 8B or 9A. We have never stayed at the CSR and we are looking forward to staying there. It looks so nice....and relaxing. I can't wait to take a walk with Piglet203 at night around the resort. From what we have seen on Buzz2001's website and SteveH's website, it looks as if our walks will be very romantic.

We were in Ranchos 7B. When we got this room assignment I wasn't real happy about it. UNTIL, I realized all the posts I'd seen about walking times around CSR were grossly exagerrated. We were on the first floor, and could walk out our door right onto the pool deck. We must have gotten a free upgrade, (is that water view?). We absolutely LOVED the room and the location. Maybe a 5-7 minute leisurly walk to El Centro, and just a minute or two to the Dig site.

Dude, are you really? You two are really going to WDW together? I hadn't heard that!!!

AF Brenda,

I'm sorry that Piglet203 and I share the excitement of going to WDW together. I guess we can't help it. Sorry to bother you.

Anyway, we stayed in Casitas 2 in March, and we loved them. It was quite a hike to the pool, but if the kids were tired, we just drove to Cabanas and parked there. It is a gorgeous walk along the lake to El Centro, and there is a bus stop nearby.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the CSR locations, it just depends on what you plan to use most often.

Just Remember.......

The requests for buildings and rooms in not guarenteed.

So IMHO.....don't put so much thought into building, floor, and if the room is close to stairs, elevator. That is usless you have a medical reason, in which case that should be your request.
I have seen so many people try and actually pick out their rooms and end up disappointed when they can't even get the building they want.

It is a BEAUTIFUL resort, no matter where you end up.
We were at CSR last May and we had requested Cabanas 9A. Well they were going to put us in Ranchos, the farthest building, yikes!!
With a little word of kindness and persuasion.....I ended up in Cabanas 8B....which worked out fantastic!!! Very close to the pools and bus stop.
And remember half the fun of staying at a new resort is exploring the grounds!! Spend some time just walking around.....we did and discovered alot ! We found little shortcuts, that my DD thought was fun!

Just remember no matter where you end up.....there will be advantages to that particular area! ;)

And just have a GREAT TIME!!!
