Ok, so I'm auditioning for the school play. its a world war 2 radio show. I wanna audition for one of these (in the order i want for roles):

1) Kate Smith (singing role, singing God Bless America)
2) One of the Andrew Sisters (comic act, idk about singing)
3) Commercial Actor
4) Announcer (like news anchor, is in most of the show)

I really wanna audition for the Kate Smith role, but one: im nervous about singing a solo in front of the whole school, parents, and teachers. 5-6 times. im scared about that. But other than that, no problem.

also, if u think i should audition for the Katie Smith role, I need a song to sing for the audition. I was thinkin about doin a broadway song, but idk yet. any suggestions??

Thanks in advance :DDDD

May I ask what play this is? Not a broad definition, but the actual name, so I can help find a research source for you, to help you with your audition :)

its actually called "World War Two Radio Show" lol. its just a bunch of acts and different things that you wouldve heard in a radio show during world war 2, except in visual form... lol. its really cool :)

if your auditioning for katie, i'd go with a song from: chicago, pajama game, the producers or south pacific... cause they'll represent the era well.

Also agree. I'm in a production of The Pajama Game now, and there are definitely some good audition songs in it!

also, aim big. if you audition for katie and don't get it, they're more likely to concider you for smaller roles. but if you're good enough for katie but aim for a smaller role, they may think that it's too much for you to handle.

ok, so i was thinkin o doin the andrew sister roles... what song would sing to audition???

help please!! !:D

what voice part? are you a belter? and do you want it to be a show tune?

i actually dont know what a belter is actually to b quite honest lol. But I'm in choir and I'm a soprano one. It depends on the show tune, But im fine with the show tune :)

i'd deff take a look at the muscals listed above with the addition of brigadoon(sp). also, it's not from a musical but has the same vibe, the song boogie woogie bugle boy.

i agree %100 with those choices!!!! all that jazz is a fabulous audition song all together, i looove chicago! and boogie woogie bugle boy sums of the mood of the decade AND i don't see anyone coming up with that choice for an audition piece!
