What rides for 16 month old?

We are heading to Disney in 10 days with our DD 5 and DS 16 months. We were talking about our trip last nite at the dinner table and my DD asked what rides her brother would be able to go on. I told her I wasn't sure, but I would check and see which ones would be appropriate for him.

Small world will be closed

Pooh is good, but it does bounce a little. But it's bright and cheery. My neice loved Pooh and Small World. She's 19 months.

My niece also adored the shows, like Beauty and the Beast. She just stared at the sparkly and pretty costumes in amazement. She also loved walking through Mickey and Minnies houses (well, in her stroller. )

We were there Dec 2003 with DD 15 mos and DD 8. DD 15 mos went on everything that did not have a height restriction. I carried her in a sling on my hip ( made any standing in line manageable) and when it came time to board, I would swing her around so that she was facing me. She loved it all !

b-1...Wow, the sling idea is fantastic. Where did you get one and is it big and bulky for packing? We will have our stroller, but I have a feeling that my DS 16 months will not want to spend too much time in the stroller, so this may be a good alternative.

I went once when oldest DS was 12 mos and then again when twin DS were 12 months, see a pattern? They loved Pooh, Buzz, the Disney railroad,monorail, carousel,Dumbo,paddleboat, the parades. We were really surprised how much they enjoyed WDW.

There's plenty to do for little ones...not to worry. You'll do more together as a family than not! The list of what you can't do is a lot smaller than what youc an do!

One trip one of my children was 8 months, and on another trip one was 10 months -- they could do almost everything we did with our older daughter! The rides with height restricitions are too rough and a 16 month old wouldn't be allowed on anyway. Your five year old might not want to do them either. But so much is geered toward the whole family. Your littlest one will love it! And for the few things that your 5 year old wants to do but the little one can't (or is a sleep), you can just split up. Sometimes, I'd walk througha shop with my little one in the stroller while DH took our older daughter on something. Not a problem at all....

I ordered the sling from mayawrap.com I decided on the pouch style because it seemed to be the easiest to use. It folds up to about hand towel size and thickness. Really easy to toss in a backpack or even the bottom of the stroller. Very easy to use, and is also adjustable so that someone else can do the carrying too! Fabulous for the long hike through the airport. I phoned and received it within a week ( and it had to go through customs to get to me! ) so that was really good. I had never used one before and it was very easy to figure out. HTH

My oldest DD was 17 mos. when we took her and she went on everything that didn't have a height restriction too. She did get a little restless waiting in line for Dumbo and she also got very squirmy and fussy during the Country Bear show and at the Hall of Presidents. Otherwise, she loved everything and we had a great time. I didn't discover those hip slings until child #3, but I highly recommend them and they really don't take up a lot of luggage space at all. I got mine at either Toys 'R Us or Babies 'R Us. The Maya wrap one is better quality than what I have, but I was on vacation without a stroller and made do with what I found at the store.
