What rides do you prefer to skip

What to skip depends on the rider. Most of Disney is designed to appeal to everyone & unfortunately, this means that most of the attractions are dulled-down and passive. We are thrill riders. My 8yr old son was underwhelmed with Disney World in general. Even the best of the roller coasters were too tame for him, so he was REALLY bored with:
MK:
Pooh, Peter Pan, Snow White, Small World (we knew that going in), the race cars, Aladdin, and the Jungle Cruise (this was pathetic!)
Pirates of the Carribean, Country Bear Jamboree & Carousel of Progress were things I remembered fondly from my childhood trip....they have not stood the test of time and are seriously outdated. Even Chuck E Cheese's antiquated animatrons seem fresher.

He did like (but wanted more thrill from): Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain RR, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear,and he did like Tom Sawter's Island... (this was neat, but not worth waiting for if there is a line because you have to wait for the raft to take you each way.)

Mickey's Philharmagic was the best of the 3D attractions in any of the parks, but again, they all need updating to keep up with Busch Gardens & other parks.

Epcot

Most of Future World was unimpressive. Soarin was just ok. Mission Space didn't make any of us sick & my DH avoids anything that spins because he gets sick. We rode both versions. It was neat, but it seems like they could have done so much more with it. Test track was cool. The Seas with Nemo was dull, but Turtle Talk with Crush was well done.
The biggest waste of time was Journey into Imagination...this was like a bad carnival ride that just didn't make sense. Even more laughable was "Figment's Place" This tiny building had two small carnival mirrors. That's it. I guess the Figment charcter can be found there too, but I cannot believe they waste the time airconditioning the building just for that.

My son LOVED the world showcase -go figure!

Animal Kingdom
We liked everything here. Even so, Expedition Everest was too tame for my son. (his exact words were "is that it?!") AK is best if you take the time to talk to the guides and not rush through.

MGM
There are really only two rides worth bothering with here: Rock n Roller Coaster (very well done, could be scarier), and Tower of Terror. The stunt show was good too & so was Indiana Jones (skip it if you've seen it before though)
The back lot tour was long and dull. So was the great movie ride.

Water Parks
These are decent water parks, but not worth going to if it is even slightly crowded. Wait for an evening EMH or go after a storm.

Overall, I think my son was too old for Disney & Disney just didn't offer enough "magic" to justify the prices or lines. Too many of their attractions are dated & common. We have been to Hershey Park, Six Flags, and Busch Gardens in the past 2 years & quite honestly, Disney didn't offer anything that made it stand out as the leader in entertainment or service. (Six Flags would be the exception on the service -everyone is better than them on this)
The Alpengeist (sp) roller coaster in BG was so incredible that I told my DH as we did the child swap that "this ride alone was worth the price of admission!" I can honestly say that nothing in DW came close to earning that kind of enthusiasm. The other parks have better 3d attractions, are just as clean, and the thrill rides blow Disney out of the water.

Disney really needs to freshen up attractions or get rid of their outdated attractions or they aren't going to be able to justify their outrageous prices beyond the toddler years. We had a good time, but we could have had just as good a time at any other park for much less money.

With the exception of the piano player at the POR bar, most of the entertainment was so-so. The POR piano player Bob Jackson, however, was fantastic!

I don't do Stitch- STUPID, Drew Carey's-STUPID. Tiki and muppets are one timers... gets old.

I so wish they would update the Muppets one. I love the Muppets, but loved to see a new show. I hate that little guy at the end. Annoying.

yep vertually the same thing.........long rides to go around and up and down.......ehhh. I'll let hubby or Grandma ride with the kids on those....lol

STITCH....I'm surprised there isn't a thread with a poll asking if anyone actually likes this "ride". I have never heard anyone admit that they like Stitch. It's too new to be nostalgic about it so pleeeeeese Mr. Disney (who makes the decisions for these kinds of things) make it go away

The dinosaur at AK scared our son so bad that it took forever to calm him down - even DH hated that.....I wish we had a warning and knew not to take him.....after that we warned everyone who had a kid 5 and under.

Stitch is so lame...every time. I tried it again last year when there was no waiting during the late hours of MVMCP. As DH and I walked out I said, "Well, that's 10 minutes I'll never get back."

After a bad experience at Disneyland during the 1960s that involved DH, his Navy buddies, some beers at lunch off-site, and a bad decision to ride the TeaCups, this attraction is offically OFF of DH's list for life.

Tower of Terror, Primeval Whirl, Body Wars, Mad Tea Party all due to motion sickness.
"Honey I Shrunk the Audience" b/c I thought it was a waste of time.
Stitches Great Escape - I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it enough to do it again. That is unless my DS's just have to do it, and can't be bribed out of doing.

My DH would love to skip "it's a small world", but the DS's love it.

Body Wars, Star Wars, the spinning side of Mission Space, astro orbiters, mad tea party, primeval whirl, rock and roller coaster -- all of them due to severe motion sickness

stitch - because it's the worst ride ever built

and we don't like the motor stunt show at MGM, but that's not part of the question...

We tend to skip stop & load rides like Dumbo, the tea cups, Cinderella's Caurosel, etc. because the lines are long & you can find rides lie these at just about any other park. The Jungle Cruise is out dated & again, long, slow lines. The Hall of Presidents is good for a quick nap. The Tiki Birds, It's A Small World, & the Country Bears are cute the first 50 times you see them, after that... Nevertheless, I'm dragged on quite a few of these rides every time I go to WDW.

We hated the Jungle Cruise and won't be going back on it when we go next month. It was hot, boring.....we just didn't like it at all.

Carousel of Progress. I know some people love it, but I can't stand it. Sooo boring... and that song... bothers me more that IASW.
