What rides did you take your baby on and how?

We'll be traveling with an 8 month old in a few weeks. I know that if there are height restrictions then a baby can't go on, but I had assumed we wouldn't be able to do much. It seems like many people take infants on other rides though. I didn't realize this would be an option. If you don't mind taking a minute I would love to know which specific rides you went on and how.

For example...did you use a Bjorn, hold him/her, sit him/her next to you? Are there any you wouldn't recommend?

TIA

We basically did whatever we wanted to ride that didn't have a height requirement and wouldn't be too frightning for my DD. We did Pirates of the Carribean, transit authority, jungle ride, haunted mansion (she did fine), Buzz Lightyear, Small world, Winnie the pooh, the ride in the ball at epcot, the ride with the plants in the Land, Great Movie ride, Back lot tour, Loin King show, Millionaire, the safari ride. We did other things but it was over three years ago and I can't remember some of them. We just held her during most of these. Sometimes she would sit in between my DH and I. We also did most of the shows. Also, they have a kid swap on the rides with height restrictions. One person rides while the other person stays with the baby (ask a cm for a ride swap ticket). When that person returns, the other person gets to enter the fast pass line and ride it without much waiting (at least that is how it was when we went a couple years ago). Let me know if you have other questions.

We took my DS on everything that did not have a height restriction. He was 9 months old on his first trip & loved it all!

For most of the rides, I just held him in my arms. He loved looking at EVERYTHING. We had no problem on any rides.

Take your baby on everything they can go on. :thumbsup2

I had the same question before we took our 10 mo DS with us to the MK. I emailed someone at disney (found it off their website) and asked if there would be anything he would be able to go on. Their response was that he could go on all of the non height restrictive rides as these rides only have the carts so that people don't have to walk through the ride.
We held him on our lap on the rides.
Enjoy your visit!

We did all of the same with our 10 Month Old. We found it easiest to keep her in her Baby Bjorn while we waited in line and on the rides (that way we were never afraid of her falling).

my friend took her 8 mnth old on Piarates of Carabian he did great until the little dip and then he flipped out!

Ditto what everyone else has posted...we did Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Small World, Pooh, Peter Pan, TTA, Spaceship Earth, Rio del Tiempo, Living with the Land, Kilimanjaro Safari...I could probably think of more...but I just wanted to give a "heads-up" on a couple of attractions that I felt were a little too much for DS. The Great Movie Ride was freakishly loud when we went with DS at 9 months - I covered his ears during the end scene. He did just fine, but I felt like it was too loud for his ears at that age. I'm not sure if it was just the settings at that time or my sensitive mommy ears or what, I didn't remember it being that loud in the past and I don't think we've hit it since then for a comparison. The other ride that I felt was a bit loud and super-stimulating was Buzz Lightyear...Nothing major, I just remember being uncomfortable with the amount of visual stimulation for a little guy. Now that we've been on since and have had a blast! Everybody's mileage may vary and maybe I was overly protective and sensitive when DS was a baby, but I just thought I'd add my .02.

Have fun!

DS was about 9 months when we first took him. At MK, we did IASW (MANY TIMES), POTC, HM, Peter Pan, Pooh, Snow White, the Carousel, Jungle Cruise, Riverboat, Philharmagic, Aladdins Carpet, Hall of Presidents (this was the ONLY attraction he cried during...go figure!) We didn't do Buzz, because I didn't know what it was like...but we did do it last time (at 18mo) and he LOVED the bright lights. Didn't do Dumbo...line was way too long. At MGM, we did Bug's Life, Safari Ride, and Festival of the Lion King. I think that was it there. Epcot, we did Energy Adventure, Figment, Living Seas, Living with the Land, American Adventure, El Rio, and Maelstrom. MGM, we did Playhouse Disney (MANY TIMES), Voyage of a Mermaid, Fantasmic, Indiana Jones Show, Great Movie Ride, Backlot Tour, and WWTBAM (he got fussy there). We did not and still have not done Sounds Dangerous the CM said it is VERY loud.

I may have forgotten a few...but like other's have said we did pretty much everything that didn't have a height requirement.

Most rides DH or I held him, some of the very tame rides (Figment, IASW, Land) he sat in between us. Waiting in line, we took turns holding him, I had a carrier, but only used that in DQ, since you can't take a stroller in there.

Hope that helps...as you can see you can go on many, many rides, plus don't forget about the parades and fireworks and characters...babies LOVE that!!

HAVE FUN :thumbsup2

At 7 months, we took DS on everything that didn't have a height restriction (which is actually very few attractions) that we went on. Usually he was in the front pack, a few times I held him. Anything that did have height restrictions we baby swapped.

At 15 months, we took DS on everything that didn't have a height restriction and held him or had him sit next to us, depending on the ride. If he was sitting next to us, we would keep an arm around him. For example, he sat by himself on Buzz, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo.

Another vote for a baby bjorn! We brought DS when he was 5 months and anything he went on with us, I put him in the baby bjorn. It was great!!

Another vote for the baby bjorn--it made things really easy. And we also went on anything that didn't have a height restriction, and DS was only 2 1/2 months old. And since he was so small, we left him in his infant carrier and carted that thing right on the ride with us. But for convenience the Baby Bjorn was great! Enjoy your trip with your little one!

Our DD was 8 months old when we took her for the first time. We took her on everything in the MK without a height restriction. She loved looking at all the lights and things. She would smile through it all....even the haunted house.

If the line was short we just held her. If the line was long we would put her in a carrier that went over our shoulders. Like the baby Bjorn but not that brand. It was a really inexpensive on we bought just for the trip. We didn't have one already. I have to say it was nice for the lines but you could do without it if you don't have one already.

That was a really fun age to take her at. She got so excited over the characters. We have picture after picture of her grinning a toothless smile ear to ear with the characters. :lovestruc

I can't remember what we did and didn't do at the other parks. I know we did the safari, and the Muppet 3d show.... If there was a ride we wanted to do with a height restriction we just took turns doing it.

Have a great trip!!

Hi. We just got beack yesterday from a week in WDW with an 8 month old, two 5 year olds, and a 7 year old. We used the Baby B'Jorn all the time. It made things so much easier. The baby went on everything that didn't have a height restriction. Pretty much we could do everything at Magic Kingdom except Goofy's Barnstormer, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Stitch. We used the baby swap for Splash, Thunder Mountain and Stitch. The good thing about baby swap for our crew was that after the first person goes on, the second person could take two other people with them. This was great because then my older kids could ride twice without waiting too much. In Epcot the baby could do almost everything except Test Track, Body Wars and Soarin. In MGM she could do everything except Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster and Star Tours. We never made it to Animal Kingdom, but from what I remember she could have done everything except a few rides in Dino land, Kali River Rapids and Everest. She enjoyed most all rides except for some of the dark rides. She fussed a bit but I always had a bottle in hand so that I could rock her and give her a bottle and then she would calm down.
Have a great time.

The last we were there we celebrated our youngest 1st birthday there. We did pretty much all the ride attractions with him. The Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Peter Pan, Winnie Pooh, Snow White, he sat on our laps. He loved it, he did not fuss or anything. MGM was pretty much the same thing, the only pain was taking him in and out of the stroller.
