So my DW is pregnant! As of today she is 9 weeks to the day. We are so happy but she’s really upset because she can’t ride all the rides! Now here comes the loaded question, what can she really ride? Her wonderful doctor said “ just the kid rides that your 2 year old son can ride” (I know doctors always say the worst to protect themselves) I know that Tower of Terror is out of the question but what about the others? Any mom’s that have had the same experiences that we’re about to embark would be helpful! Also we'll be at DL October 19-27 2011.

I haven't done it pregnant, but I paid close attention because my DD was 2 at the time. Your wife could easily ride Pirates, all of fantasyland (whether or not she'll feel up to Toad's is the question LOL), Jungle cruise, Haunted Mansion, IASW, Nemo Subs. If you're going to DCA there are a lot over there she can ride too.. Stuff in Bugs Land, Midway Mania! She'll have PLENTY to do :)

CONGRATS!!!

Pretty much what her doctor said is true. I did DL at about 12 weeks and 6 months pregnant and WDW 8 months pregnant. She should avoid any "mountain" rides, Indy, TOT, California Screamin'. But, there are so many rides she can do and it is nice to sort of take a break and relax during the day and people watch. I didn't feel like I was missing out on much, I do love Indy and BTMRR, but there is always the next visit! She can do some baby shopping to fill in the time when she would be riding the bigger rides, that may distract her ;)

Congrats! :thumbsup2

All the rides that are not pregnant-lady-friendly will have large warning signs posted outside. Basically if the ride has a height restriction, it's also prego-restricted.

Pirates will still be closed for refurb. I think the new Little Mermaid ride is fine. She can still watch Fantasmic and World of Color, and the fireworks.

One ride that isn't as obvious is Autopia. The cars can bump you and also the fumes aren't good to be breathing. Also, tuck and roll bumper cars at DCA are not a good idea.

I'd also maybe stay away from things that may make her dizzy like maybe the Mickey's Fun Wheel non moving gondola's or things that go in a constant circles even if it's slow, Flink's Flyers, that sort of thing, might make her more motion sick. Like was said, I've seen the signs that say no pregnant riders so keep your eyes out for that.
Good luck and congratulations!!

I was 19 weeks pg last year when we went and I Just stayed off of the rides that the parks said I couldnt ride! So no Screamin, TOT, BTMRR, SM, Matterhorn, autotopia, Indy and the little coaster in toon town that my daughter loves. Teacups were fine for me once but I didn't want to do them a million times like my daughter did so DH rode with her the rest of the trip. Pirates and jungle cruise were both good ones for me. Oh and haunted mansion too.

Theres still plenty of rides to go on! She'll just have to wait another year for the "big" rides!

Congrats! :thumbsup2

The only one w/a height restriction that I think would be safe is Soarin'.

Congrats and have a great trip!

Congrats!! I am 28 weeks and we go on Friday :) I was about 19 for Tokyo Disneyland and 28 for WDW with my first DD, 15 weeks with my second DD. I would agree with her Dr but Disney does so much that is OK for 2yr olds (and pregnant women) that it's not that big of a deal. It's even nice to enjoy the atmosphere and rest while pregnant too :)

First of all, congratulations!!! :cheer2:
I went to DL when I was pregnant. I went on Pirates of the Carribean, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Snow White, Pinocchio, Teacups, It's A Small World, Mr. Toad's, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, etc... The list is endless!

Awwww congrats. That's so lovely. I've heard that someones doctor said Splash was ok as the pressure at the end of the drop is just like stopping at a red light. I would definitely cross Indy and TOT off the list though.

The disneyland website has a list of ride restrictions though most have been listed. The only 1 I didn't agree with when pregnant and rode was tuck and roll's bumper cars as they go sooooooooooooo slow and the impact is sooooooo limited. I would disagree with the comment about splash mountain as the drop is too far and fast for a pregnant woman. Other than that have fun!

I just returned today and am 24 weeks. I went with DH and DS (2). I basically rode everything DS could ride with the exception of Autopia, Matterhorn, and the roller coaster in Toon Town. Unfortunately, you have to stay away from the "fun" adult rides. But I still had a blast! Have a great time.

I've been to Disney twice pregnant, and there is still a ton of stuff. She won't feel too left out. I will say that Splash is definitely out - this IS too much of a drop and not at all like stopping at a red light. You are not weightless at a red light.
