You can see her massive hand.

The next house on the Unmasking the Horror Tour was
IMG_6256.jpeg

The code name for this house during construction was Daisy. This is because Daisies are the one flower that can supposedly live even through a nuclear disaster.

Back story on Fallout.

Fallout originated as a role playing video game in the late 1990’s. It was set in a post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic World.

The show series is on Amazon Prime.

Vault-Tec was a pre-war defense corporation that designed a system of network bunkers known as Vaults to help preserve a small fraction of the U.S. population in case of a massive Nuclear War.

The show depicts the aftermath of the Great War of 2077 which was supposedly an apocalyptic nuclear war between the United States and China.

Two hundred years after the apocalypse people are living in vault shelters.

In the Fallout universe there are Ghouls who were formally human beings who survived the massive exposure to radiation during the Great War. It caused severe physical deformities making them look like burnt zombies.

On to the next and last house Jason Un1v3rse

IMG_5758.jpeg

The codename flower for this houses construction was Jasmine.

The back story. There have been 12 Jason movies. Friday the 13th being the first.

In the movie a woman named Pamala takes a job at a camp (Camp Crystal Lake) as a cook. She brings along her son Jason who has a disfigured face with her so he can try and fit in with the other kids at the camp.

One afternoon the children at the camp began to bullying Jason and they chased him to the dock by the lake and pushed him in. Jason could not swim and drowned,

The camp counselors should have been watching the children and could have stopped the other kids from bullying Jason, but they were off having sex instead of watching he kids. Jasons mother Pamala blamed the counselors for her son’s death.

Jason is still alive and living in the woods for years.
IMG_6290.jpeg

His mother Pamala sought vengeance against the Camp Counselors for the death of ther son. She is finally beheaded during a final show down with one of the Camp Counselors.

Jason finds the head of his mother and takes it back to a cabin in the woods were he is living and makes an alter to his mom.

There was a very dark maze section of the house which we were told there would be Jasons popping out every where. I was looking forward to seeing that.

We were done with the houses and our tour guide the wonderful Rogue collected the amplifier boxes and a couple of us gave him a tip.

Just wanted to let everyone know that you can tip the Tour Guides if you want. Rogue was a wonderful guide.

They asked when you checked in at VIP for the tour if you would be staying in the park after the Tour. I said yes, I have an AP and they scanned it.

So those that did not have an AP or day ticket on the tour followed Rogue back to VIP were we started.

A photo of our tour guide Rogue. What a nice guy and a great Tour Guide.
IMG_6307.jpeg

I think it was about 2 pm when the Tour ended.

I saw Bart, Marge and Lisa being lead back for a break.
IMG_6308.jpeg

I wanted to wander over to the Five & Dime to see if they had gotten anymore more of the Hami-Kuma bear merchandise. They had the popcorn bucket. Which I bought.

Thanks for all the info. We have a 6 house tour coming up. I am looking forward to seeing all the behind the scenes stuff. It's also good to know they can scan our tickets after since we will be doing the park after the tour.

Your welcome. You will really enjoy the UMH Tour.

Make sure you ask if they don’t ask you on check in about scanning your ticket to stay in the park after your tour.

Wednesday, September 10th continued.

After I was done making my purchase at the Five & Dime I headed out of the park. I was happy to see the Portofino boat at the dock.

After arriving back at Portofino I went to the Club Lounge for a snack. I called my sister to see where she was and she said she would meet me at the lounge.

They have some nice options out for a snack.
IMG_6311.jpeg

IMG_6312.jpeg

IMG_6313.jpeg

There is bread out for you to make a sandwich if you want with the lunch meat and cheese.
IMG_6314.jpeg

IMG_6315.jpeg

IMG_6316.jpeg

IMG_6317.jpeg

I had some of the veggies and Hummus.

My sister met me in the lounge and we talked about the UMH Tour a bit and then we went to guest services to see what night would work for us for getting Express for HHN.

Well I had not planned to attend HHN tonight as I did a lot of walking with the UMH Tour, but this was the only night interestingly that Express had not been sold out during the time we were here.

My sister and I both had the ROF pass without Express. I usually buy the ROF with Express, but I decided I would not be going into the event and the houses as much as I have done in the past so decided getting the pass with the Express would be a waste.

So with the news that tonight was the only night that express was available we bought the express for tonight.

I went back to the room and showered and got on some comfy clothes and propped my feet up as it was going to be a long night.

After a nice rest it was time to head down to the Club Lounge to see what was offered for dinner this evening.

We had a light meal and before long it was time to head for the water taxi.

It is always so nice walking under the HHN sign knowing you are going to have a full night of HHN.

I always start off energized and thinking although it’s warm it could be warmer on my first night of HHN. Always have to start with the positivity. There was bit of a breeze until you got to the backlot entrances to the houses.
IMG_6321.jpeg

IMG_6322.jpeg

We stopped to have a good look at the Gargoyles at the beginning of the Origins of Horror Scare Zone
IMG_6323.jpeg

IMG_6324.jpeg

IMG_6325.jpeg

IMG_6326.jpeg

IMG_6327.jpeg

Then we crossed over and went to the walkway they had set up for these houses. This is by the Minions ride. This walk leads to the backlot were all these houses are located. There is plenty of signage for these houses in the backlot so you can make sure you get directed for the right queues for each house.
IMG_6705.jpeg
It did not appear to busy on first glance once entering HHN that was until we got to the backlot and that was where everyone was.

Let me say a hand fan does help while you are standing in line for those houses on the backlot. There is not a lot of air moving back there.

They have set up a some fans back there this year though in some spots so that is nice.

We just stayed in this backlot area and finished these houses. The longest house we waited for with Express was Grave of Flesh which is an origional house. I thought Terrifier or Five Knights at Freddy’s would be longer.

I think we waited about 20 to 25 minutes for the other houses in this area.

Your so welcome Mac. I’am always happy to share my trip information with you and everyone.

Wednesday, September 10th continued

The Five Nights at Freddy’s house had some large impressive animatronics, but I did not think the house was scary at all.
IMG_6329.jpeg

Without a doubt Terrifier was the house with the biggest body count as promised and the most gore.

IMG_6709.jpeg
At the end Art the clown is encouraging you to take the wet path, but we decided on the dry path. We had a number of other houses left to do and I did not want to be walking around wet.

I saw people wearing ponchos to go through the wet side.

After we were done with those 4 houses we went to the line for El Artista: A Spanish Haunting. The line for this house was in front of the stage area. You really have to be careful when walking this queue because the fake grass can hold moisture from the rain and it can be a little slippery.

If ever see this line backed up run. You will have a wait.
IMG_6706.jpeg
The line for El Atista was pretty long and I think we waited almost 30 minutes.

After this house we did exit by Jimmy Fallon.

It was now very busy out in the park. This looked like a weekend night of HHN.

We walked through the Mutations Toxic Twenties Scare Zone. Did not want to be to critical of this Zone only having walked through it one time. I felt I would have to walk through this zone again to really appreciate it.

We had a plans to get through all the houses so we were not going to spend time in the Scare Zone very much this evening.
IMG_6330.jpeg

IMG_6331.jpeg

After walking through the Scare Zone we headed for the Jason Universe House. It had a stated 110 minutes wait time.

With Express it was almost 30 minutes.

Towards the end of the house in the dark maze Jason’s were popping out everywhere.

This was one of the houses from the above UMH Tour. It was very good going through it at night.

We saw the Grabber out taking photos with people.
IMG_6332.jpeg

IMG_6333.jpeg

We walked through Club Horror. This was like walking through a dance zone with girls dancing on mini stages with double crooked war scythes.

I looked up and saw a creepy Halloween moon. How appropriate for a night of HHN.

IMG_6334.jpeg

We did stop in Diagon Alley for a quick cool down and rest in Knockturn Ally on the bench.

Then it was time to head over to Galkin and Fallout.

These two houses had the entrance to the right of Nightmare Fuel show. It is a hike to get back to these houses.

These two houses are basically right next store to each other. After you are done with one you just head to the other houses entrance.

I think it was after we came out of Galkin I saw the lovely Janet and her hubby. We stopped and had a visit and then said our goodbyes. It was so nice see her and her hubby. Janet (Keishashadow) has been a wonderful contributor on the Dis with her sticky on HHN every year.

After our visit my sister and I went to the next house Fallout then it was time to hike back out of this backlot area.

I will admit my dogs (feet) were barking my this point and I was tired of the humidity.

By the time we made it out of the walk we saw many youngsters collapsed on the concrete benches resting. OK……..I convinced myself that I was not that tired yet……so onto Dolls Let’s Play Dead house we walked. I was glad this house was not as far of a hike to get to.

IMG_6336.jpeg

After coming out of this house I finally had to admit I was wondering if I had the stamina to make it back to the last house Hachet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters over by Simpsons.

My sister and I talked about skipping this house, but we did marched on to the house.

After coming out of the backlot for Hachet and Chains we did have a sit down in the Simpsons area and watched the chainsaw ScareActors have a good time chasing screaming girls.

We walked through The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane Scare Zone. The lit carved pumpkins up in the trees are beautiful against the night sky.

The Cats were out roaming. I loved the way they had incorporated the shadow features in the Cat Lady’s house windows with the cats jumping up and down on the furniture.
IMG_6341.png

I was looking forward to coming back and enjoying this Scare Zone a little more over the time I was here, but I was to tired tonight.

We continued our walk through the Masquerade Dance Death Scare Zone. Another Zone I would have to look at better in the coming days.

We powered on and exited the park and headed to the the Water Taxi. It was after 1 am. When it is this late the boat for Portofino usually stops and drops off at HardRock too, but the Captain asked if there was anyone for HardRock on the boat and there wasn’t. So straight to Portofino we went.

I was so happy to get back to the room and take my shower and go to bed. It was a little after 2 am when my head hit the pillow and I was out.

My sister K told me she has never seen someone who can fall asleep as fast as I can. I guess that is one of my Super Powers……LOL

Thursday, September 11th

My eyes popped open about 8:30 am. I’am not one who usually lounges in bed to long after I wake up, but made the exception this morning.

It had been a long day and night last night. So I thought a little morning lounging was needed.

My sister K and I do go down for a light breakfast in the Club Lounge about 9:30 am.

We then decided to walk over and have a look in the Universal Store in the piazza.

They had a very large selection of Hedwig merchandise.

After we were done looking in the store we went back the room. The maid had been there already. The room was all refreshed.

We decided on a pool day.

We go ready and went to the Villa pool.

This is only one of the 3 pools at Portofino. There is also the Beach Pool which is basically right across the entrance walkway from the Villa Pool. The Hillside Pool is located a lot farther away at the end of the East Wing.

I like the Villa pool as it is much quieter than the Beach pool.

There were only a couple of other people at the pool. There are pool chair covers and towels once you enter the gate.

We got our chairs set up and since no one was in the pool I did get in and swim a few laps.

IMG_6357.png

IMG_6356.png

It was nice to see the scaffolding down and the exterior of the buildings looked refreshed.

There is a Bocce court to play on if you want.
IMG_6358.png

There are pool Cabanas for rent. I do like the Beach pool Cabanas better.
IMG_6360.png

IMG_6361.png

There are outdoor showers available to rinse off after the pool.
IMG_6362.png

There is a nice restroom and locker area. These are ideal if you want to come and enjoy the pool area while you are waiting for your room to be ready on arrival.
IMG_6363.png

There are nice plunge pools the warm pool was smoking hot this morning.
