What rides are too "kiddie" at each park?

First time going to DL and DCA and I was wondering which rides are the ones that are meant for kids. We are all adults going on the trip, but at WDW I would go on Winnie the Pooh but I don't ever go on Barnstormer because it is like a 30 second ride. Are there any Barnstormer type rides at either park that are really only meant for small children?

Well, anything in Bugs Land, probably. Same with ToonTown. I've ridden most of the things there and I wouldn't ride them again unless I was with kids that wanted to go.

other than some of Toontown, and some of BugsLand I wouldnt class anything as too kiddie for adults. Im 42 and I go on most things other than the big thrill rides.

In Toowntown, I go on Roger Rabbit, in Bugs Land I wend on the dodgems like ride.

I wouldnt just dismiss rides as being too kiddie without actually doing research on them and checking out the descriptions on the Disneyland website.

I think it really depends on a lot of things. In Toontown, there is Gadget's Go Coaster. It is a beginning roller coaster. But some adults enjoy being a kid again.

In Bugs Land we (a group of adults) enjoy doing Heimlicks Chew Chew once in a while. While the rides in these areas may seem slightly childish, they can also be fun. It all depends on the group.

The only ride I don't do is Gadget's Go Coaster since I have problems getting my legs in and out. I don't consider anything else of limits. I'm 39 and would ride anything else!

by the time the group arrives at Gadget I find the musical fountain much more relaxing than Go-coaster, so I sit while the group rides......not a difficult decision...I am 62, 300 pounds and 6'5....fountain benches are much more friendly......and no kids!!!!!

When I go through the turnstile into DLR, I am a kid again. I ride anything I want to. I've never thought that there may be things that are too kiddie. And I have yet to believe that the characters are just people in costumes. I do believe that a mouse can be as big as I am, and there is a bear who wears no pants, and a dog who talks funny. If this ever changes, it will be time for me to stop going to DLR. Just my thoughts...

I wouldn't know anything about the characters. I live in Oregon. All I know about Disney Characters is what I learned watching the movie Stand by Me.

Since Bugs Land is going to be leaving very soon, I plan on doing all of it this trip, but we are there 11 days, so no worries on not having time. If it is a time cruncher skip it, but if you have time, do it for the fact that it will all be gone soon.

At DL all of the rides where you can’t see the actual ride are not kiddie rides, in fact some are quite dark like those in fantasyland. How much you would enjoy Pinocchio probably depends on your definition of fun. The other rides are easy to see so you can decide for yourself if it’s too kiddieish for you. My kids are young so I go on lots of kiddie rides and still enjoy them. I’d miss Toad and Peter Pan and even the carousel if we didn’t go on them. I’d classify Dumbo as younger but it’s still fun.

The only ones I don't ride every trip (and I have rode every ride in the past) are: The Carousel (my kids still ride it but I just watch) and a few of the bug land rides I just feel aren't worth my time but I do ride them all occasionally as the kids request. Everything else I am game for and would even go on by myself if I ever made it to DL on my own!!!

As others have said, the closest ride to Barnstormer is Gadget's Go Coaster. It's a short and very tame coaster meant to introduce little ones to "thrill"-style rides. I suppose the other rides that might be considered geared primarily for little ones are Casey Jr, and the stuff in a bug's land (although, depending on when you're going to DLR, a bug's land might be closed (last day is September 4, 2018)). In general, I think DLR (and WDW) does a pretty good job of making most kid-focused rides enjoyable for all ages. If you go on Winnie the Pooh at WDW, then most all of the dark rides in Fantasyland will be of a similar style (level), so they should be fine.

With my toddlers all we do in bugsland are flik and Heimlich. If they weren't with us I'd avoid these.

my youngest will never experience gadget. Such a long, slow line for such as short tame ride. My oldest did it once and wasn't impressed.

Avoid the jumpin jellyfish. slow loading.

We also never go on the golden zephyr. Did it once. That was more than enough.

I had forgotten about Jumpin' Jellyfish and Golden Zephyr. I wouldn't do Golden Zephyr again (pretty dull), but Jumpin' Jellyfish was worth riding once. The ride itself is very tame (it's a baby version of a drop ride), but I did enjoy riding it at night facing into DCA. It gave a pretty nice view of the park with all of the lights on. I wouldn't do it again during the day, but nighttime was worth doing at least once. You get much the same view (even better actually) from Silly Symphony Swings, but for folks that don't do spinning rides very well, Jumpin' Jellyfish is a good alternative for the view. I guess by the same token, the Carousel and Dumbo are two other rides that I probably wouldn't do without a little one. I think both are worth doing, but if you're pressed for time, I would probably forgo those if there aren't any toddlers in the group.

And personally Dumbo is a "classic Disney" not miss for me. LOL

I will have to try jumpin jellyfish at night. Thanks for the suggestion. My kids will be at least a couple of years older the next time they go and may still enjoy it.

We do them all, even when it was just me and hubs on our honeymoon. I never avoid something "too young" at Disneyland on my solo trips either.

I love Heimlicks and I drag all the adults on it with me each time. I will be sad to see it go in September. The line is usually short and it is good for a laugh... and to rest my feet for a couple minutes.

Honestly I ride almost everything, the only reason I don't ride a few is because they make me feel to nauseated (tea cups, star tours etc) and I love the story book canal boats..

We are going with a group of adults and teens the youngest child being my DD10. Rides we will not be going on are
-Bugs land- Probably closed anyways by then.
-Jumping Jellyfish (maybe only DD10)
-Silly symphony swings -no one likes.
-Maters- DD10 does not like it so we will skip it.
We get an all other DCA rides if we can.

Astro Orbit
Pinochio
Snow White
Carousel
Gadgets
Winnie the pooh
Storybook
Nemo.

Winnie the pooh & Nemo are the only two rides that are always on our NO list. The others we have done already and will still do if we have time but not a priority at all.
