What Ride shouldn't I go on?

Hi All,

I need some help from you Universal experts on here.

I'm not the biggest fan of roller coasters...I go on pretty much just to be with DH.

At WDW, I am good on Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Soarin', did Expedition Everest (that was the line where I draw it at).

I can't do Rock N' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, or things along those lines.

I don't like huge drops, going backwards, and definitely not going upside down.

So if you experts could help me out, and warn me about any particular rides I should be weary about.

Thanks so much everyone!

Based on what you've stated...stay away from: Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, Hulk and Dragon Challenge. You should be OK on everything else.

Revenge of the Mummy is borderline. It's fairly mild but it stops and goes backwards a bit. If you try any, start with this one.

Adding to Metro's list: Dr. Doom's Freefall

ROTM falls between Space Mtn and Everest for intensity, so imo the OP could be able to handle it. Also skip Jurassic Park River Adventure (>80ft drop at the end) and Ripsaw Falls (75 ft drop).

I, too, hated all roller coasters until I rode the mummy around 4-5 times. After that I started to ride everything and loved it

Mummy reminds me of space mountain in that it is an indoor coaster. But there are mummies, loud noises, fire and a short portion of going backwards. Only intense because of these things, there is no upside down, but you just don't know where the ride is going because of the dark..... that might be a good thing... :thumbsup2

I would highly advise you to try Mummy if all possible. My wife too has a problem with coasters, doesn't like to feel like she's falling and going upside down etc., I convinced her to try Mummy and she loved it, its much more than a coaster type ride, its a themed ride, which is why I'm suggesting it, the story and animatronics that go with it is not to be missed IMO. If you were up for at least one challenge in this regard, I would advise trying this one.

As to others yes, I would stay away from the RRR, Hulk and Dragon Challenge coasters, and of course Dr. Doom, you should be able to do all the rest I think.

I only went on RRR because my son wanted someone to ride with. I did NOT want to go- the ride up basically sitting in a supine postion looked TOO scary. But the music blasting in your ears kind of takes the edge off the scary factor, and now it is my favorite coaster at Universal (unless you count FJ). No upside downs on that one. But if you were to try any of them, I agree that it should be the Mummy. If you don't ride the Mummy, do the line with your husband, it's good... then take the chicken exit.

Thanks everyone for your experiences and thoughts!!!

I will give Mummy a try, I think I can deal with that. And I'll stay clear of the other rides (or atleast if DH wants to go on it, he can go on it first, tell me if I'll be able to handle it, and if he thinks, I'll give it a try).

The only ride that I would be disappointed to not go on is the Dualing Dragons ride :(

Does that ride go upside down? I think I read somewhere it does but I'm not quite sure.

Thanks for your help everyone!

It does go upside down, and every other direction for that matter, quite a few times.

You will be able to see Dueling Dragons and Hulk, as they are outside, not contained in a mountain like most of Disney's coasters. We loved DD, but judging from your info you might not. If you decide you can ride DD you can ride pretty much anything

I think you will be fine for Revenge of the Mummy. The backwards part is nothing at all, truly isn't. Honestly, it reminds me of Maelstrom's portion backwards. The blast off up the hill is the thing that gets you and there is a brief second of airtime as you feel lifted out of your seat, but it's nothing to be nervous about. There is another drop, but it's a minimal drop and that's where the picture is taken.

You probably want to stay away from The Hulk, Dragon Challenge, Dr. Doom, Rip Ride Rockit, Jurassic Park, Dudley Do Right (if and when it opens again).
