I've heard about people being given a special desert if they are wearing buttons and I'm wondering what restaurants tend to do that and is it completely random? When we go in June two of my kids will be celebrating a birthday a day apart and I'm thinking of taking them to one of the sitdown restaurants for their birthdays. In the past we have almost exclusively eaten in the hotel room for our meals but this trip there will only be four of us and I only have to pay for three so I am hoping to eat in the park a bit more.

I think the sit-down restaurants in the parks & resort hotels would have the "special" desserts. Even the DTD restaurants do this. Just let them know when you check-in for your meal.

On our trip in March, we got them at all the character meals, Cafe Orleans, Blue Bayou offered but we had ordered the Cookie Boat instead, & Rainforest Cafe.

BB brought us a chocolate mousse dessert. It was ok but we had ordered the cookie boat so we just went with that. :)

Blue Bayou gave DS a bowl of vanilla ice cream for free on his 4th b'day. It was very good ice cream.
