Know this one's loaded - but can you guys/gals give some suggestions on which restaurant in each of the parks you try NOT to miss?

Going in May for our 20th and would like it to be REALLY special-
And DH enjoys eating:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: so maybe we can at least hit some favorite restaurants for the trip.

Doesn't have to be a show, just regular dining. For ex: we have eaten at San Angel Inn at Epcot several times. What favorites does everyone have?

Thanks -

Although its not in the parks, my absolute favorite is -- Boma for both breakfast and dinner. Not just a meal but a dining experience. (I sound like an infomercial). Wonderful deliciouis and different food selections (also old standbys) something for everyone plus selections available no where else. Also atmosphere is wonderful and a beautiful resort to tour and admire. Arrive early for breakfast and walk out to behind the pool area and watch the animals have their breakfast. Also there are balconies off of the lobby level where you can grab a rocking chair to enjoy the view for a few minutes after or before a meal. Love it. Why not give it a try.:D

We really enjoyed the Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. We went to dinner and it is all you can eat family style. Had turkey, dressing, green beans etc... Kind of Thanksgivingish. Characters mingle while you eat too, they were great with our 3 year old.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LeCellier in Canada at Epcot. Great food, great atmosphere. Though not in a park, we also really enjoyed the Cape May Clambake at Beach Club.

Try to get to the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Resort. We had one of the best meals ever there and if you time it right you can get priority seating for a dinner before, during or after the MK fireworks and watch from the deck outside the restaurant. It is really terrific.

Thanks kapika 3 and all the others!!!:) :) :)

I had forgotten about Boma at AKL - we have eaten there the first year it was open...it was good. And I didn't even know about the California Grill!

I'll just have to write all these down in my handy dandy notebook(Passporter of course:hyper: :hyper: )

Thanks again everyone -

We also love Boma's and LeCellier. We never miss SciFi drive-in either. Trying Alfredo's for the first time this trip - anyone able to comment?

I highly recommend ANY character meal if you have kids. It is soooo much fun and the characters are so funny. My kids had a blast.

I highly recommend Mama Mel Rosa (sp?) at MGM. It is all the way in the back near the Muppet movie 3-d show. We did it as part of the Fantasmic Dinner package and enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day for lunch. Have fun!

When we travel with my parents, eating is as much a part of the adventure as any of the attractions (My Dad is one of those who like to eat too!)

Boma is very good and we enjoyed the uniqueness of the offerings. Our never miss is Chef Mickey's (especially with kids.)We always eat our first meal there to get us into the Disney spirit.

Palio at the Swan is wonderful if you like Italian. Spoodles on the Boardwalk has a unique breakfast buffet. House of Blues has some very good offerings and it is a very unique restaurant to boot! (Make sure you check out the bathrooms) 50's Prime Time can't be beat for funny atmosphere, but you have to be willing to play along and be silly to really get the most out of it.

Hmmm - good thing I just ate lunch.....:hyper:

At MK, Plaza Pavillion is great....slightly cheaper fare(relatively speaking of course), lots of room and hardly any lines.

At MGM, ABC Commissary for a quick bite to eat cant be beat and for sitdowns, I'm partial to the Sci-Fi Dine In :)

Hey everyone,

Ya'll (little touch of the southern culture) keep giving me all these restaurant ideas, all we'll ever do is eat, eat, eat::) But hey, my dh will love all the suggestions.

Gonna write all these down in my passporter and then decide which for ps to start calling.

Thanks again for all your favorites!!!

Can I add some more favorites?

Jiko at AKL
Artist Point at WL (even if you just go for dessert - the berry cobbler is to DIE for! and big enough for 2-4 people!)
Sci-Fi at MGM (best burgers in WDW if you ask me)
Prime Time at MGM (DH loves the stew and meatloaf)

and for a quickie bite to eat - Tusker house in DAK.

For a light lunch or something like that Columbia Harbor House in MK is great. If you like pizza and want a small meal in AK Pizzafari is great not only for the food but the theming too. Liberty Tree Tavern is great. We really liked Hollywood and Vine in MGM too.

We go every visit and LOVE it still!!! And, you get to see the incredible AKL! Makes for a great evening.

we always eat at the Land pavilion at epcot there is a restaurent that revolves and why you eat you get to see the ride it is soo cool they have a character dinner that is really neat. and it is all you can eat so althought it is a little expensive it is worth the cost. and my family oves th revolving rest.

also the hoop dee do review and althought this very pricy it is alot of fun too as you can tell we dont go for the romantic ones we like the loud ones.

In Epcot, I always eat at least one meal at the San Angel Inn in Mexico pavilion. Good mexican food with great atmosphere. Also like Alfredos. Very nice restaurant.

In MGM, 50's Primetime Cafe are also great for the way take you back to a different time and place.

Here are a few restraunts that my dh and I enjoyed:

*The Crystal Palace (MK) They have great breakfest! And you can meet the Winnie the Pooh characters

*Tony's (MK) Great Italian! Plus, it's the theme of Lady and the Tramp

*50's Primetime Cafe (MGM) One of the best places I've ever eatten! The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is excellent.

I agree with other posters about Liberty Tree Tavern (MK), Tony's (MK), Chef Mickey's, and California Grill (try the orange crepes, I believe they were called- they were excellent!!!!)

I would suggest Akershus in Norway in EPCOT. It has a really good cold and hot buffet when I was there in 2002. Now, it has a Princess Breakfast (which I'm going to in December!)

Also in the World Showcase (EPCOT) try the Marrakesh in Morrocco. The food there is fantastic! Try the Morroccian Mint Ice Tea! I had some kind of ka-bobs when I was there too! Fantastic food!

Hope that helps. Have a good trip!

Kristin

Liberty Tree Tavern, Liberty Tree Tavern, Liberty Tree Tavern!!! We just happened in on our trip and got in without PS's. It was the most amazing meal. The salad was yummy. The rest was absolutely amazing too. We will go back every trip. We felt the need to finish it all. Didn't want to waste a single bite.
