We will be at Animal Kingdom on a Sunday night until 5 and want to go to dinner at a counter service restaurant (free dining) and then go to Jellyrolls. Looking for opinions on how to plan this out, we're using disney transporation.

I know you probably don't want to change your planning around.

But, it would be much more convenient to do Jellyrolls (if coming directly from a park) on a night where you would be arriving to the Boardwalk from Epcot (a 5 minute walk or boat ride) or Hollywood Studios (15 minute walk or 10 minute boat ride).

The bus situation from the AK to the Epcot resorts is not the greatest.

I understand what you are saying and that would make sense. We are only in disney for 4 days with non-hopper tickets. We are doing Epcot all day Friday, MK all day Saturday, AK all day Sunday and DHS on Monday when we fly home Monday night. We love the Boardwalk area so where is Jellyrolls in relation to Beaches and Cream? I feel like this post is becoming a dining board post, sorry.

As you exit EPCOT at the International Gateway, Beach Club and Beaches and Cream are on the right about 7 minutes walk. From there you can walk over to Boardwalk, shortest trip is to use the bridge to your left as you look across the water. Getting to Jellyrolls is about 10 minutes for our group. To get home from Jellyrolls the fastest would be if the studios are open late enough, walk the 10-15 minutes to the Studios bus and ride back to AKL from there. Otherwise, if it were me we would get a cab at Boardwalk.

Isn't Beaches and Cream a full service credit on the Dining plan. :confused3

Yes.
The quick-service in that area:
Beach Club Marketplace
Hurricane Hanna's
Boardwalk Bakery

Bus to the Boardwalk Inn and eating there would require the least amount of walking.

Hi Andrewminustwo,

Jellyrolls is about a 10-15 minute walk to Beaches and Cream. The problem is that there are only a few quick-service/counter-service options in the Epcot resort area (by Jellyrolls) - they're listed above. So, if you are going to be coming from AK - I think it actually might be better if you stayed an extra hour there and ate a QS dining meal there - I believe there are a lot more tasty options in AK than by Jellyrolls.

As someone mentioned though, Beaches and Cream is a a table-service credit.

More info you need based on your dates ...

Hurricane Hanna's is closed for refurb until December
Beach Club marketplace - I stayed in BC last week, don't even consider using a meal credit here

So, with your non-hopper tickets and the dining plan - you would need to switch and/or extend a park day.

I don't know what days have EMH nights during your visit and if that effects anything.

There are a lot of QS options inside of Epcot and Animal Kingdom (DHS QS options for dinner are not good).

A lot of other options would require a park hopper to get you from AK to a QS and then through Epcot.

OR, can you switch a TS you have planned inside a park to a QS and then you could use a TS in the Epcot resort area (surrounding Jellyrolls) and then the options for dinner expand?

OK, I'm going to be a little more creative. I would go from AK to AKL and eat a CS dinner at Mara at Jambo House. I would then take a bus from AKL to DHS and then catch the boat from DHS to the Boardwalk to go to Jellyrolls. You have plenty of time to do this if you are leaving AK at 5pm.

As others have stated, you do not have any CS options in the Boardwalk area using dining credits. If you are willing to pay OOP for a counter type meal, I would recommend you look at the Fountain at the Dolphin. It doesn't accept dining plan credits but the food is good and reasonably priced.

If it were me, I would take the bus to AKL, from AK. Head down to the food court area-Mara- at AKL-Jambo. Get something to eat....that's counter service.
Then, you can poke around the resort a bit...nice to do while there. I say this because Jellyrolls doesn't open for a bit.
Then, take the bus, from AKL, to DHS, and walk (or boat) over to BW. If you walk, just stay on the sidewalk, all the way to the end, and go right, into BW. Jellyrolls will be right there, on the right. If you opt for the boat, get off at the S/D, walk up and over the bridge, and you'll see BW/Jellyrolls to the right, at the end of the sidewalk from DHS.

Beaches and Cream is a table service restaurant...and who knows how long it will take you to eat there. The lines have always been ridiculously long when I've tried it.
