I haven't eaten at all the resorts for meals, but of them all I've enjoyed Pop Century's the best. This is why.

1. Because my DH is a vegetarian - he had and LOVED the Veggie Lasagna. They served a very large portion. We used a Q & C voucher so he got a side dish, a brownie and ice cream sundae and an icee.

2. I had salmon (very tasty - with Smokey flavor) with a brown rice side dish the tye dye cheesecake (which taste like regular cheese cake). I used a voucher here!

I thought Pop did a very good job of creating meals for every one. I would definitely eat here on our next trip in August.

Now, what restaurant in a resort do you recommend and why. And post pictures if you have them.

Daughter had the rigatoni with meatballs and sauce at Pop Century. I couldn't believe how good the sauce was. We all mentioned how good it was. I couldn't find the Mom's Night Out dinners though and was very disappointed. Also, GF has wonderful restaurants and good food court. Their french toast sticks and hash browns in Gasparilla Grill is about the best I can think of. WL with Whispering Canyon Cafe and Artist Pointe is good too.

I think I would have to vote for the Polynesian since 2 of my favorite restaurants in WDW, Ohana & Kona Cafe, are located there. We love Kona for all 3 meals and Ohana for dinner(havent done breakfast there yet).
Thats not to say there arent wonderful restaurants at other resorts. We love ESPN at BW and Yachtsman Steak House at Yacht Club. But since the Poly has 2 Id have to go with that. ;)

For me, it's the Grand Floridian, hands down. You have 5 full-service restaurants, three of which (Citricos, V & A's, Narcoosee's) are some of the best on-property, not including Gasparilla Grill, which has the best fast food (it's also one of the cleanest).

It'd be hard to top this choice. I'd say the Contemporary and Boardwalk Inn are next in line.

BOMA in AK Lodge by far the best if you like to try different foods and tastes. If you are a picky eater, don't waste your money or time. Save the taste experience for somebody who likes adventure. Flame Tree BBQ and Tusker House are two of the best fast-food (fast for WDW) eateries in WDW. 50's Prime Time Cafe in MGM has good food and a great atmosphere. Fun time for all if you play along and actually try to antagonize the servers. O'Hana's is great if you have little ones, and enjoy noise and laughter. Cape May if you want good seafood and relaxation in a quiet place. Chef Mickey's for a decent buffet and lots of noise, characters, and general hysteria. Finally, Akershus for dinner, great variety of different foods, well prepared, and service with a smile and story if you so desire. Best prepared food in WDW. Also, one of the quietest and most restful places. But it's not for everyone. Again, if you're a picky eater, don't waste your time.

AKL is my fav resort for food, because I LOVE both Boma and Jiko

If you count the Swanolphin as one resort, I would say that was a close second: BlueZoo, Palio, and Shulas are all excellent places (well, I can't personally vouch for BlueZoo, but I've loved every other Todd English place I've come across, so I assume...)

Definately Animal Kingdom Lodge! We love Boma for breakfast and dinner and Jiko is, in our opinion, the very best restaurant on property - to die for! We also think that, as far as food courts go, Mara is better than most. We liked that they had options that were a little more unique than most food courts.

I'd have to give second place to the Boardwalk. We love the yummy bakery for breakfast and Spoodles and Flying Fish are two of our very favorite restaurants for dinner. DH always wants to go to the Boardwalk for dinner at Spoodles, no matter where we're staying. Spoodles breakfast is great, too! And then there's the Sweet Shop . . . :teeth:

I'd say the GF. I am not particularly thrilled with 1900 Park Faire but they also have Narcoosee's, Citrico's, and the GF Cafe.

I vote for the Polynesian. Kona Cafe is one of our very favorite WDW restaurants, and although 'Ohana really wasn't for us, the atmosphere was fun and we did enjoy some of the food (the pineapple bread, wontons, and pineapple with caramel were delicious).

Although we did not care for Capt Cook's we have to vote for the Poly, we love Kona and Ohana isn't so bad.

Also have to say any Epcot resort because of the proximity to World Showcase!!!!!!!

hmmmmmmmmmm. even though I just had breakfast I'm suddenly hungry again! BTW, the omlette I just made was no where near as good as the one I had at Kona Cafe!

Vote for the Boardwalk here. The Boardwalk offers a good variety of restaurants (Flying Fish, Spoodles, ESPN, and Big River Grille, plus a pizza shop, sweet shop, et al) though they lack a 'food court' per se' which make their restaurants not that cheap. Plus only Spoodles has breakfast which imakes your choice somewhat limited (though you do have room service if you wish). But its proximity to the many other resorts within walking distance and EPCOT, can't be beat!

ITA!!!! I love AKL!!! More for the food than the resort, which is great too.

I did not like Pop Century's food at all. :crazy2: Blech! Ylk! If you like their food, maybe I'm not the right person to ask about other places. ;) I probably wouldn't eat there again, even if someone was paying for my meal.

Oh, I loved the Peas, Grains and Veggies at Jiko....a vegetarian dish. The Kalmata Olive Flatbread, another vegetarian appetizer, was wonderful too. Oh and the Bean Soup, another vegetarian side, was very good. It was marvelous!

My husband ordered this and LOVED it! By far the resort with the best restaurants is the Animal Kingdom Lodge! We ate at Boma and Jiko each twice during our trip last week. Each time at Jiko I ordered the Quail with the Pomegranate glaze, Swiss Chard and Beets....the beet curls were so unusual and good...crispy. The Boma breakfast buffet is phenomenal...a definite MUST! I loved the omelet station and the delicious roast pork. Everything is so fresh and good and the wait staff at both restaurants are so attentive.

All of the Deluxe resorts have at least one really good sit down restaurant.

For us, the last thing we want to face at Disney outside the parks is counter service food. So food at Values is out - regardless of how yummy it may be.

Dw and I had the ribeye at Yachtsman Steakhouse and it was unbelievable. I wanna go back and have it again.

We were very happy with anything we ordered anywhere at AKL!!!
Also one night we were very hungry on our way back from the parks and thought we would just stop in to the Yacht Club Galley. We were very surprised and VERY pleased. I had the club sandwich which was huge and wonderful and it came with the best and most unusual potato salad I had ever had. SO GOOD.
My husband had the open faced steak sandwhich which was like no other open faced steak sandwich. Presentation was beautiful and it was so tender that we actually tried to cut it with a fork and were able to!!!!
We really didn't try any of the other places at YC exept for ice cream at Beaches and Cream. YUMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYY
