What procedures or policies would you change if you were in charge?

Since there is always room for improvement everywhere, here are a couple of things that come to mind.

Because of poor planning on my part, I arrived extremely early for my PS at Liberty Tree Tavern. In doing so, I was able to observe how the restaurant is run for a good hour. I was amazed at how long it took between when one guest would leave the table and another guest finally was seated. The table that we eventually received sat for a good 20 minutes before it was even cleaned off. It was then cleaned off by the server...... Then it was another 10 minutes before another woman came around to set the place setting. And then another 10 minutes before we were seated. That table did not get used for 40 minutes. A good restaurant would have had the next group seated in no more than 5 minutes. It seems that they just need to hire a couple more people to clean off the tables and then they could get more people through the restaurant.

One more...I heard this mentioned before and I loved the idea of getting a wristband for kids that are 40". We were at Disney when my youngest was just above the 40" mark. We were able to ride all the 40" rides, but we checked three time while in line. In some cases, the CM were debating if she was tall enough.....It was unnecessary stress that could easily be eliminated.

Last one for now......I absolutely hate when Magic Kingdom closes at the exact same time that the second Spectromagic parade starts. Whenever Magic Kingdom closes at 11pm their is usally two spectromagic parades those nights. Imagine what it is like for the park to close, but people can't walk down mainstreet to leave, they must use the sidewalks. We were trying to watch the second parade, and all I could hear was the CM standing on the sidewalk, saying "keep moving please" because people that were leaving were stopping to watch the parade. The whole mess was really a bad experience. At least in the future I'll know to watch the parade from Frontierland. Disney should leave the park open at least until the parade clears Main Street.

Any other suggestions?

I'd say:

-make the lines shorter somehow!
-have multiple fastpasses at once
-make a hs internship program

far off ideas but hey one can dream lol. i cant complain about disney its AMAZING :wizard:

I talked to a cm at Bomba's one time and she said that the wait staff was having to bus tables as well as serve. I was a bit appalled as I do not like the idea of someone serving my food who has just finished cleaning up someone else's mess. ( I watched her wash the chair seat and then the table too, ugh) Maybe it is just me but that seems short sighted of Disney as it would be more efficient to have bus staff. Wonder if that is true at all the DW restaurants.

Just wondering, Slightly Goofy

Okay, I just have to say this...after driving around Disney this last week, I would INCREASE the letter size of all Disney road signs so they can be seen a LOT further away giving more time to get into the correct lane. Those road signs have ridiculously small type and almost impossible to read until you are nearly under them!!

I would have the park hours available 4 months in advance if I expect guest to make PS 90 days in advance. That way, people who plan can make appropriate arrangements. This includes indicating which parks will be open for EMH. I don't see why it is so difficult to figure out how late to have the parks open in each month. They have been around for 50 years! Also, have all seats available at the 90 day point. Why should the person planning ahead and making PS for Fantasmic have to schedule a 4 o'clock dinner and call back 30 days later to see if anything else has opened up. The early bird should get the worm.

I'm sorry if this offends people, but I think I would enjoy a beer or glass of wine with my meal at the MK especially. I also think that WDW should ask guests to leave if they "appear" to be intoxicated, so that those of us who enjoy one or two would be able to. Euro Disney does this! Plus think of the revenue it would generate.

I would have unlimited fastpass for those staying on property. You could give a wristband that would let you have unlimited fastpass for the day. They could make it a benefit and offer it for one or two days of the trip. Universal does this and I find it interesting. I know they are smaller that is why I say limit it to a few days instead of everyday. That way you have to really choose your park and stay there.

Good thought, but Universal has this for only two on-site hotels (correct me please).

Give this to all the WDW on-site people (with so many budget hotels), and you open it up to chaos.

Give it just to the "concierge" people and you will touch off a class war.

I like this idea. If I knew the park hours AND EMH days before I booked my first PS, I wouldn't have to make any changes to my PS once they were made. I guess Disney likes when people have to keep calling back. (Sarcasm)

I'd take off the "biometric scans" that are now a part of all park entries....they don't work and take WAYYYY to long!!!

I'm not sure if this is a policy or not, and it might be seen as controversial, but I think the CM's need to be more strict about the smoking policies there. Theres nothing worse than having someone light up a cigarette IN LINE right in front of you and your husband who has asthma, and then to have your husbands eyes watering like crazy as he starts to get wheezy. So if you kindly ask the person in front of you to put out their cigarette and they tell you to buzz off, I think some backup from the nearby CM just observing the situation casually would be nice. I think the CM's are now afraid to offend people by enforcing policy considering similiar scenarios have happened to my husband and I on several occassions.

Which brings me to my next point. I understand that Disney has smoking areas correct? I'm not a smoker so am not sure of this, but are they inconveniently located? If so they need to make a few more in differnt places around the park so people do not have the temptation to do this in line. It would beneift smokers and non-smokers alike. Some people are trying to quit their nicotine addictions and I can't imagine how hard that must be, so they will need a cigarette or more during the day. The person going through this process should not be forced to start experiencing withdrawal symptoms while on vacation, but instead should be able to find a smoking area relatively quickly. :wizard:

I agree that single rider lines should be at every ride, not just a select few.

I think they should reduce prices as well. I know thats unlikely but lets face it, Disney costs a lot! For the price were paying for our honeymoon there we could go on 2 trips to the Caribbean of nearly the same length! If the prices are goign to remain high they at least need to have adequate staffing at restaurants.

Just a few...
1. bar codes on those mugs so that you could fill (refill) only for that trip. You could get a new barcode sticker for subsequent trips for say, $3.00. That would end a lot of the 'other types of mugs' being used and irritating everyone.

2.Ask for AP when checking in, everytime. Be consistent.

3. Wristbands for pool use, just like SAB. And consistency about this whole putting towels on seats for 6 hrs., in order to have a good seat when you return from the parks.

4.Park hours put up at the 90 day mark. My God Disney!!! You know what the parks are going to be like based on room reservations and past years. Help us out here.

5. Please add some small food court type places in the deluxe resorts.

6. I like the 40" wristband idea. My dd is plenty tall enough now, and has been for quite awhile. But, it's so sad to see those poor little ones having to be measured and then remeasured at each ride and sometimes being turned away.

I don't think that this will ever happen in MK, I believe it was a wish/order of Walt himself.

Besides, CM's don't/won't/can't ask guests to stop smoking in non-smoking areas, imagine the trouble with unruly (drunk?) guests.

Take a monorail or boat ride to a MK resort or go over to World Showcase for your libation.

I wouldn't allow people to hold seats in Fantasmic while the rest of their group are out riding rides.

I like it that you can't get alcohol in the MK. Maybe revenue isn't always the most important thing.

(1) to deal with the birds in EPCOT
(2) to have more buses run from resorts
(3) airport hotel check-in

1. Onsite Guests should be able to hold more then 1 fastpass at a time. Maybe not unlimited but how about 2 or 3 an hour?

2. Children should be measured when entering the park by the same "standard" measuring stick. They should then be give a wrist band (either over 40 inches or under 40 inches).

3. Disney should be more strict with their dress code. I am sorry, but some of the things people where in the park are completely inappropriate!

4. Disney needs to be more strict about the smoking areas.

5. Hours should be released 90 days out, that way people can make their PS's accordingly.

6. The PS system needs to be updated! I can't tell you how many times I would call & try & make a PS for 7 & be told no. I would then ask for 8 & low & behold, there would be a table! And this would be exactly 90 days out!

7. The CMs need to be consistant in what they tell people calling for codes. One CM says "tomorrow" one says "next month" one says "I dont know".

I would make hours 90 days in advance, same as priority seatings.

Maybe allow resort guests to get another fastpass after 1 hour instead of 2.

Consistent release of AP rates, say 90 days ahead. That would save the phone cm's some time and not tie up the phone lines with "are codes released yet" calls.
