Does anyone know what longhouses at the Poly are currently being rehabed? I haven't heard anything since Hawaii was completed. OR have they stoped construction because of the hurricanes (shortage of construction workers) and the upcoming holiday season?? It seams like they would try to finish up the longhouses that were not completed and maybe squeeze in another before the new year.

As of Friday there is no buildings getting renovations. They have been full and unable to block off the rooms, they also have been having some issues with contractors and they will be gearing up for the holiday bookings. I got the impression it might not be until the beginning of the year when they start up again but that can change at any time.

Thanks Tikiman! I was getting curious. I sort of figured if I didn't hear anything it probably wasn't happening! These delays will really set back the schedule quite a bit.

Niue, Fiji and Hawaii are all done (except the headboards and lighting). Tuvalu is done except the 1st floor but the entire building is open. Rapa Nui is done except the 2nd floor but the entire building is open. The suites have been done since the beginning of the year.

Aotearoa and Tahiti was supposed to be in process but no work has been started.

Tikiman is a GOD! Thanks Tiki.

We are leaving in (gulp) 11 days for the Poly. Any advice about what longhouse would be best given that we would like a renovated room, not too far a walk from the TTC.

Not a God at all but thanks. There are plenty of people here that know as much or more about the Polynesian.

Well as far as getting a new room it is just luck at this point. They are still very full so available rooms are limited. If you wanted a smoking optional room than Niue would be your best bet but other wise Fiji is the only one that all the rooms are completed. I don’t suggest you make a request but see what you get when you get there. If you make a request for a new room you might not get it because some of the front desk CMs don’t realize that Rapa Nui and Tuvalu are not completely done and they have put guests in the rooms (telling them they are the new design) and they are not completed. Just do your homework on locations that are done and once you get there you can see if there are any available if you are not already in one. If you end up in a room with the previous design than maybe shoot for Tokelau, Samoa or Rarotonga. Tokelau would be my first choice since it is close to everything and an easier walk to the TTC than some of the other longhouses.

:cheer2: Thanks Tikiman. I have booked my first stay at the Poly for mid-December and requested the Figi building. :cheer2:
