What plans do you make your last day at Disney?

Hi! I'm just curious what plans you make the day you check-out; specifically, those of you who have to catch a flight?

I'm trying to plan for my family's first trip to Disney, and am worried I might be trying to pack too much into a small amount of time on our last day. Our flight doesn't leave until 2pm, but I was planning on finishing our stay with an early breakfast at CRT, and possibly a ride/attraction or two. I just want to know what are realistic plans for a last day? I'd love to hear what has (or hasn't) worked for you!

Sounds like the perfect way to say goodbye to Disney. This is actually a place where even I can admit FP+ is a good thing. :)

We always do MK on departure day, although we usually have a later flight.

Two things:

1) Be sure to be packed up the night before so you don't stress yourself out getting to breakfast on time.

2) Set and hard and fast deadline to be on Main Street heading for the exit. And don't deviate. I have really enjoyed the days we hit the parks early on departure day.

You will have to be back at your resort for magical express pick up by 11:00 am. If that is your plans.

We normally drive, but we always hit Downtown Disney on our last day. :)

We drive, so we can stay all day or no time all on departure day.

It really just depends on if we got everything done we wanted or if we missed something. Because it's such a long drive- 2 long days if we push it, we usually try and just get up and go. There are time though, especially since we have AP's that somebody just has to go back and do something one...more...time. But we do not have a tradition for last day- it's not a happy day.

if you are using magical express the time to meet the bus is about 3 hours earlier so most likely you'll need to be at the check in desk at your resort about 10:45 to check your luggage unless you do it before heading to the parks. It might be hard to do unless you are staying at a mk resort.

I suppose its doable if you can get a very early CRT time. I don't like to put that much pressure on myself and we just take our time getting out of the room and hang out in the lounge and/or the resort. maybe eat lunch at the resort before we leave.

ETA: we have frequently been on a 2pm flight.

We normally drive as well, and one of the reasons why is so that we aren't pressured to have to leave at a certain time. We've even extended our stay by a night or two several times because, well, we just weren't done!

In your case, though, with a flight leaving at 2pm means you'll probably be leaving Disney World before noon and even earlier if you're staying on site. If you are able to make Fast Pass reservations for your last day that might be a good way to lock in three early-morning attractions in the park that opens the earliest so you won't miss your flight!

What l like to do on my last day is go to MK, go on a couple of rides time permitting, but my favourite last day thing is walking up Main St USA one last time, taking it all in, it's hard to leave.

On our first trip we were at ?MK until about 1pm and it was fun, we did some wandering around and doing a few last rides. However it also made it very sad to leave and go right to the airport.
The second trip we left earlier so we stayed at the resort all morning then went. This was ok but I was wishing I could go back to the park one more time LOL!

This trip we are leaving the day free, DME picks us up at 2:30. Most likely we will go to a park but we will let everyone choose that day, and leave ourselves free with no ADRs. For me The meal takes so much park time I would rather be wandering around or going on rides. But it all depends on what your other plans are. If that's the only time you can get for that character meal you should probably keep it as it is pretty special.

No matter what you do don't be too surprised if you get sad, I was shocked when I started crying! Then I knew I was hooked :).

It depends on what time our flight home is. When we have an evening flight (6 PM or later) we often do a waterpark. With an earlier flight, last time we had breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe and spent time visiting the resorts to see their Christmas decorations. We might have done downtown Disney but with all the construction skipped it. We have non-expiring tickets so wouldn't use a park day for a short time.

Last trip, I went to Epcot until about 10:30 to catch a flight leaving around three. It was ok, but a bit stressful. I was worried the whole time about whether we have time to do that attraction, how long will the bus take, plus trying to not lose track of time. I think a morning to sleep in and relax at the resort would have been more enjoyable.

Our flight leaves at 5:25p in August so I think we'll just check out early around 10am and head down for an early lunch at WGP Express or Earl of Sandwich before heading back to making sure we are back to our resort by 2pm.

Our tradition is that on our last morning we ALWAYS go to Breakfast at Ohana's.... amazing food and atmosphere... then we ride the monorail around the loop. :flower1::love:

We normally drive, so no worry with catching a flight. But we prefer not to try and cram a partial park day in on our check-out day. Instead, we sleep in a little, check out, have lunch at DTD, and then hit the road.

Our flight out is 6:10pm. We plan to have breakfast at the resort, pack and checkin our bags, check out by 11. We have lunch reservations at Trails End for 12noon. We will probably hang out at Fort wilderness for a bit before we head back to the resort for magical express.

If you're an onsite guest, with a 2:00 flight I'd never waste time eating at CRT. A 2:00 flight means a 11:00 resort departure, which means a 10:00 park departure, unless you're staying at a MK resort, then you can leave a bit later. You could get a lot done from 9-10, but I just don't think I'd throw CRT in there in case it runs over.

We will have a 1:00pm flight our next trip. So we will just pretty much get up get ready and be at the magic express bus by 10:00am. Leaving 3 hours ahead of time is a bummer but it usually takes about that much time with about maybe a half an hour to wait at airport. We usually eat breakfast at the airport after we get all settled in at our gate.

We drive from NY. We plan our trip so that our departure day is a short day of driving. Generally, we pack everything up, and into the car, then head over to the main building at the resort, pick up any remaining packages, buy any last minute things we had wanted, but never purchased, and usually, we have our final meal on property before hitting the road.
