What phone do you have and how often do you get a new one?

I have an iPhone 13 Pro. My battery is not working as well as it could, but it’s not terrible. I’m debating on if I should just buy a new battery (approx $90) or go ahead and upgrade to a 15. That’s why I was wondering how long y’all keep your phones. I think I really just want to get the battery and continue to get my money’s worth out of this one. Thanks!! 😊

I've got a Google Pixel 6A. It's almost two years old and works great. No plans to upgrade unless it dies on me or really starts to slow down/crash a lot.

I have an iPhone 8 plus. It is 6 years old. I get new phones when I need them. The battery is starting to not hold a charge as long as I think it should. But otherwise still works.

I have an iPhone 8 Plus I bought used and refurbished. It does what I need it to do. I'm not really a *phone* person. I text my sister mostly and sometimes I make calls, but that's about it. It's not attached to my hip unless I'm waiting on someone to either call or text me, which isn't often.

I only just recently started taking it out with me after my sister pointed out that if something bad happened while we were out I really should have my phone on me.

I keep them until they can’t receive any software updates. I had an iPhone 6 which I replaced with the 14 Pro Max a couple of years ago. I will be keeping that one for several years, at least five or six. I don’t care about having Apple Intelligence on it as I have an iPad that is compatible with AI, and I use the iPad more than the phone. I basically use the phone for text and calls only. I don’t even have a data plan on it.

My first two iPhones were family hand me downs. The 14 is my first brand new one. I still use the iPhone 6, but more as an iPod for music and video. I did have the battery replaced after I got the 14.

That is my pattern now. I had a Pixel 3a and support ended last year. Replaced it with an Pixel 8a and Google guarantees support until at least 2030. This is my third smartphone, the first being a Samsung Galaxy 4. I notice absolutely no difference among the three smartphones I have had in the functions I use. Well, some of the new camera features ARE cool, but not something I used very often.
Mind you, I kept my first cell phone 14 years and only retired it because they were shutting down the analog system.

I have an iPhone 15 pro max. I buy a new phone every 3-4 years. I might consider getting a new phone sooner because it’s worth more in trade in.

I tend to keep phones as long as I can until there is some issue which forces me to move on. A family member upgrades frequently. They use Apple phones and they take advantage of trade-in promotions which can make the cost of the new phone very low, provided the trade-in is a fairly recent model.

Right now I have the iPhone 15 Plus... I think I have 2 more years with it. I have gotten in that cycle of the "free or 1,000 off whatever it's called" if you trade in the phone. I will trade this one in whenever I can get that deal on a new one. I have no complaints about this one currently.

Same here, I keep them until they die. My last Pixel would not stay on, when I went to the store to replace it they had problems getting it to stay on long enough to transfer the data. I love the Pixel but the new one had not come out yet when I had to get a new phone so I have a OnePlus 8. Have had it for long enough it's paid off and have no plans to replace it until it dies.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro, but I really only got it because my old one couldn't use the new 5G network they're converting to around here, and I was dropping/missing calls. I find the process of switching to a new phone stressful. I do love the fancier camera, though!

Samsung 23. Got it for my birthday last January. My old phone was from 2017.

iPhone 15 pro max. It's my personal number, but the phone is owned/controlled by my office. Mandatory upgrade every two years.

iPhone 14 Plus, currently. It replaced a 7 Plus when Apple no longer supported its software; no trade in value to speak of. Before that I had a iPhone 4(?) and before that a Nokia 3310 which was a true workhorse and sorely missed.
