What phone do you have and how often do you get a new one?

I have an Iphone 15 pro. I usually upgrade every 18-24 months. Prob not necessary, but a hold over from when the batteries seemed to be junk every couple years. My husband tends to keep his phones forever. He has a 13 and will probably have it another 3-4 years

I have an IPhone 14 which I got this summer. I previously had a 10 so I had it for quite awhile I got a new one as the battery kept drawing quickly. I also got it so I could get an E SIM when we went on vacation.

iPhone 12. Got it when they came out. I am fine with it for now unless the battery starts to drain.

Another Pixel 5, which I don't want to upgrade because I don't want a large phone. I've had it about 3 years, I think. I always make it a point to go at least 2 models older than the current one when I buy; IME it takes that long for the price to come down to what I consider a reasonable level.

I'm being pressured to get an iPhone to accomodate a software limitation for hearing aids, but I don't want to. I absolutely *hate* the Apple-style interface, I can never remember what the various icons are supposed to represent. (I can set the Android menu to use actual words, which is much easier, as icons are never intuitive for me.)

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S21+. I got it in April 2021.
Before that, I had a Galaxy S8 that I purchased sometime in 2017.

I like to keep mine for several years. I was thinking I could get a couple more years out of this S21+....but then I dropped it recently. And it's being weird. So I'll probably get a new one sooner rather than later.

Hello, fellow OnePlus user! You're the only one I know, besides me, with a OnePlus. I have the 9, and it's perfectly fine.
Yep, mine does the job. I'd never heard of it before I got mine but it was as close as I could get to a Pixel. I'll go back to the Pixel when this one dies but I'm thinking I have another couple of years to go.

Samsung Galaxy 24+ and only upgraded due to last trip to DL in March. Previous phone maybe 5 years old and I knew it could croak as soon as we started using it for Genie+. Also got a wrist strap (Amazon) for it so it wouldn't hit the ground if I dropped it. Great invention actually, kept it on for awhile after we returned. Never in any hurry to upgrade and usually take 4-5 years.

I have an iPhone 8, got it back when it was released, it’s in a nice otter box and I drop it daily. I will upgrade when the battery kicks. My husband has a 5SE. We also drive our vehicles into the ground, have never sold or traded one in, they just get towed away.
I have an i8 as well. It still works beautifully and since I don't stream anything, I just use it mostly like a phone it still does everything I need it for and does it well. I have had the battery changed twice now. It certainly is a lot more rewarding to pay $30.00 for a new battery than hundreds for a new phone. I'm sure before to long Apple will find a way to make it's no longer able to work. But I have news for them, I will never buy another iPhone because all those bells and whistles will be mostly unused so I'm not paying that much for how small my needs are. I can't even remember when the last time was I took a selfie. I think it was when the picture was taken for my icon on the left.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9. I'm one of the fools who usually waits until it gives "warning shots across the bow" its going to die before I change. Buying a new battery would not bother me. Have had my phone about four years, but my son gave it to me when he upgraded - so it's about six years old now.

I detest going thru the project of getting all my apps moved, then getting it back to a familiar look. And consider talking to the phone store guys right up there with a trip to the dentist!

But thanks for posting, after six years, I suppose it's time I think about a new phone :(

I just got an iPhone16. I had a samsung that just got too wonky to continue using, it was 3 years old. I decided to go with the iPhone as my kids recommended it. I am finding it easy to use so far and can do all I need and want to do. I like to keep a phone until it gets wonky.

Got a Samsung Galaxy S5 when it had been out a year or so and was cheaper. Kept that until I upgraded to an S20FE, a year after it was released, and cheaper. Upgraded this year to an S24 Ultra because I got a KILLER good deal on it, with the trade-in of my original S5. Otherwise, I'd still be using the S20. We keep phones until they just aren't working well anymore.

I have an iPhone Xr from 2018 and I need something new but keep hesitating to move on it.

iPhone 15 pro max. Before that an iPhone 12 Pro. Was in no hurry to replace it but it started just randomly calling people. Had to get a new phone. And when I traded it in to AT&T, my new phone was free.

To all my fellow iPhone 8 users. I just found out that Apple is no longer supporting the iPhone 8 so we will no longer be getting iOS updates. Soon apps will likely no longer be able to be updated/supported.
Oh, great.

I use almost nothing that the iPhone offers. If they stop, I will buy a different phone or go back to basics. I only need the phone and the texting anything else is just occasional so I can go back to android if necessary. One thing I won't do is spend a grand for a phone. Ma Bell was cheaper than that. Apples become rotten to the core.

iPhone 13 Mini - no plans to replace anytime soon…
