We haven't been to WDW since 2008. :sad2: What perks do we as DVC members still have? I was trying to find the info on the DVC member site, but was unsuccessful.

More specifically, I'm looking for info on dining and shopping discounts.

Am I correct in that valet parking is no longer free?

The valet parking perk was eliminated last year, around October.

The regular shopping and dining discounts change from time to time, but you'll get a "Portable Perks" booklet at checkin.

I'm not sure how much of this has happened since your last visit, but we now get a $100 discount on Annual Passes and free high-speed Internet. We can also purchase DDP without buying park tickets, but I think that was in effect for your last trip as well.

Depending on when you go, there might be some good special deals. Two trips ago, we got a good deal on Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba, and recently there was an even better deal on that.

We aren't staying on property.

Unless you have an AP or PAP, you won't get free parking at the theme parks. You'll have to pay for that. That's not a DVC perk; it's a perk for staying at an on-site hotel.

Right, I knew that.

I was hoping to find a list of restaurants and stores and the % discount, but another poster stated that it is ever changing.

Cuurent perks are on the Member site. After logging in, go to the upper tool bar - Member Privileges/Member Perks/Walt Disney World Resort and then click on the various options listed there for details (Dining, Shopping, Recreation).

If you are staying off-site you will still be able to get the shopping, dining and recreation perks by using your blue Membership card. You would not be able to pool hop since you'd need a valid room ID stating "DVC Member". As suggested you can also stop at a DVC resort and get a copy of the Portable Perks with a complete list of benefits available during your stay.

Enjoy!
