What pens for autographs have you actually used?

I think any pen that's not like a bic or papermate skinny type of pen should be fine. It is harder for the characters with the big hands to hold skinny pens. We were able to find really large(they were like an inch in diameter) sharpie like pens in the Target dollar bin in '05 that were great, but I've never seen them since. This year I found large ball point pens that were about a foot long and an inch in diameter in the Joanne Fabric dollar bin. They were a great size, but when Chip and Dale decided to play that's my pen with the kids, it broke really easily. I think if you want to just use the normal sharpie pen you'll be just fine.

I found this thread while searching for where to buy autograph books near home. Saw the pillowcase idea and love it!
I took it one step further - made my own pillowcases - with white "body" to write on, and trimmed in Mickey and Minnie colors. I've included pics of the first one.

Thanks again for the idea!

We always get the clickable Sharpies. The only thing I will tell you is not to get green Sharpies. The last time we were there, one of the CM's pulled me aside as my DD11 was getting Clarabelle's autograph and told me that green marker is almost impossible for "Clarabelle and her friends" to get off of their gloves! Lesson learned!
