What passes cannot be upgrade to AP?

Will be going to Universal parks this spring and will upgrade whatever tickets we buy, just 1, to AP to get hotel discounts etc. Do not want to buy tickets that cannot be upgraded. I read somewhere that the 3 park unlimited cannot be upgraded? Is this true? Any others?

From everything I've read, the 3 park unlimited pass and Orlando Flex Pass cannot be upgraded because the money is split between Universal, Wet and Wild, and Sea World. I've also read, deep discount group ticket like USSSA can't be upgraded. Lastly, complementary tickets usually can't be upgraded. If you've been given a ticket it needs to be used as is. I have some 2 day tickets that Universal gave me after a mistake with Guest Services. This would also include tickets won in contests and frequently sites like MyCokeRewards.

In general the tickets that can be purchased are 1,2,3 or 4 day tickets purchased from Universal or an authorized reseller like undercover tourist, or orbitz etc. Also 1-4 day tickets purchased with airline or credit card points can usually be upgraded.
