what parks to visit if you can only pick 3??

we'd skip mgm /we love ak and epcot and go to mk for the traditional aspect...i like mgm ( ror and tot esp) but if i had to skip one park since we seen most of the shows, that would be the one

I would say to get the hopper pass, but if you don't want to I would skip the AK.We have been there in July with the kids and it was so hot and sticky. We went in and were about to leave after 10 minutes. We went on 1 ride got a drink and left. Maybe take it as it goes if you have a cool or rainy day go there,it is great for the kids we did go back in September and liked this park alot, still hot but not like in July. That is why I say go with the hopper then if it is to hot you can just go over to another park or try Ak first thing in the morning then go to Epcot later that day.

That's a tough one...especially given the age disparity of your kids.

When my kids were little, they LOVED Epcot - esp. the street entertainment, the character meet and greets and the low-key attractions like the boat ride in Norway and Mexico, Figment and Living Seas.

Last year, as somewhat-older kids(9,7,5), they LOVED Soarin', Mission Space, Test Track, Ellen's Universe of Energy...and they still liked the bands, the food and street entertainment...and my youngest still liked the characters. Really...we LOVE Epcot...and it's got such LONG hours it can keep us busy (but not rushed) all day.

Strangely, when my kids were little, they really didn't care that much for AK. It was hot and uncomfortable, and it seemed so crowded. Bugs Life terrified them. They did like the Safari, Linon King and they wanted to spend hours of fun in the Boneyard playground...and the older ones liked Kali. But we were done...and kind of grouchy...by 3 p.m.

In December when we went and my kids were older, we had a much better day...and I am sure if EE was up and running, we would have LOVED that too.

That said...I think if I did not have a park hopper...and I wanted to eliminate a park..AK would get eliminated.

If you get hoppers, you can hit AK in the a.m....see a few highlights (might I suggets - EE, Safari, Lion King and Kali), then head on to Epcot. Epcot for us is just a really all-round relaxing and interesting and fun place to talk and hang out together. I wouldn't miss it.

WOW!

Lots of info Thanks!

I think I might get the hopper option,
As far as taking my first Dis trip in July I know it's seems crazy but it's the only time for this year anyway that we all could go together, I'm pretty sure without even being there that this will not be our last Disney trip from what i have read here it seems highly addictive
I'm sure any day now they will have to post some government warning labels on the tickets and at the entrance- kind of like warnings on cigarrettes and alcohol.

The only thing I have to do is check the reservation dates I made for Dinner so they won't interfere with what parks we want to do and when.
My reservations so far:
Monday the 10thcrystal palace Winnie the pooh dinner
the 11th-whispering canyon- dinner
the 12th Princess Breakfast at Epcot centre
the 13th MGM Fantasmic show Dinner @hollywood and Vine

Any comments on what we chose-good bad, ugly experiences?

When we first did our reso's we were sure about Epcot and then a friend mentioned AK was better but I think we should really do the hopper and get the best of both worlds!

I don't like AK at all. My kids didn't care about it, either. Personally, I'd do the MK all three days!!!

AK is fun but it gets so miserably hot and crowded that I'd skip it and go to Epcot. But the hopper route is the best way to go.

Your ressies look great. Be sure to allow plenty of time to get to Whispering Canyon, that is unless you're staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

If I had to choose between AK or Epcot, I would definitely pick AK. But since AK closes earlier than the rest, I would get the hopper so we could head back to MK after it AK closes. Have a great trip!!

Fraser, please please add the park hopping option to at least one of your days!! (once you get there, as a previous poster suggested).

I can't imagine choosing between Epcot and AK -- my two favorite parks!!

And despite what seems to be the common thread here... I have to tell you, when I first went to WDW at age 7.. and Epcot was only a few years old with not very many "rides".. i had a BLAST! we spent two whole days there we loved it so much. Now, as an adult, AK is my very favorite park. So, it just goes to show -- park preference is widely varied from person to person, more than from age to age, IMHO.

previous posters are spot on that you can do AK in 1/2 a day. it's wise to do AK, then add the park hopper option for that day once you get there.. and just hop on over to Epcot. (or, if it were me, I'd hop to MGM and spend a WHOLE DAY in Epcot. again, just my opinion).

but bottom line is.. i think it's better to see slightly less of 2 parks than none of 1. you don't want to leave missing a whole part of the world.

just like evreyone else is saying, get the hopper option! especially for little kids, it's goona be hot and they are gonna get dog tired and want to nap/relax and kids love to swim at the resort pools, as well. when i was young we would do a park in the morning, rest/swim at hotel, and go back in the evening when its cooler. I think i personally would whine and complain if i had to be in a park all day in july and I'm an adult! lol! now that we are older, we do AK as a "1/2 day park" but for kids, there is more to do!

also, reservations look great, also you may want to conside 1900 park fare at the grand floridian, it is my absolute fav. character breakfast/buffet. I never miss it, to this day! since cinderella and alice in wonderland and mary poppins are some of my faves, i can't skip it! good luck! :cool1:

My kids are 6 and 9. Despite MGM having their favorite ride (Rock N Roller Coaster), it is by far their least favorite park. We are planning a 6 day trip in early Dec. and will get the hopper option, spending 2 full days at MK, one full day at Epcot and and one full day at AK. On the other 2 days, one morning we will go to Epcot for Future World highlights, then to MGM for a few rides, and the other morning we will go to AK for highlights and then to MGM.

My advice is to skip MGM!
