What rae your MUST-DO parks. We want a really relaxing vacation so we plan on skipping a few parks this year. There will be 4 of us and we will have our DD5 and DS6. We will be there in March. This is what I was thinking.
MK
AK
Seaworld
Universal
BB/TL
So we would skip Epcot and MGM.

If you're looking for relaxation, I would ditch the commutation and choose to do either WDW or Universal, but not both. We did a trip that included just Universal, IoA and Sea World and it was great. Similarly, we've done a trip that included just MK, AK, Epcot and Disney-MGM, and it was great too.

...and I also think you should consider ditching Universal and/or Sea World. The extra commuting and parking time -- figure at least a half hour each way, maybe more -- could be spent splashing in the pool, napping, or enjoying a leisurely meal somewhere.

How long are you staying? For a relaxing time, given the ages of your kids, you should calculate two days for MK, and at LEAST one for AK. Are you staying on site? That should factor into your planning, too.

I would skip Universal and keep the Disney continuity for the kids. At 5 and 6 there are so many great options at Epcot & MGM to pass up.

For example Epcot must see attractions for children of that age would be:

"Turtle Talk with Crush" & The Finding Nemo Bruce the shark exploration area in The Living Seas, "Journey Into Imagination" and the indoor Imagination playland with Figment, My six yeasr old son's favorite ride, bar none, was "Test Track" in Epcot. Also in Epcot, the Double Decker character bus, which offers some fantastic photo & autograph opportunities during it's many scheduled stops. And don't forget to check out "Soarin'".

In MGM the little boys love the "Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular". While the little ladies have "The Little Mermaid". And who could forget "Muppervision 3D"?

That's just my own take. I know that Univrsal has some cool kiddie stuff - we enjoyed it, but there was just so much more in Epcot for the little ones & parents alike. We'll try Universal again when they are teenagers.

Oops, make that "too" many great options to pass up! And to think, I majored in English! Yikes! :rotfl:

We are staying offsite at the Vistana. We went this past Feb. and I don't want to get sick off any of the parks. Mgm was not our favorite and my kids were not interested in Epcot. I love Epcot but not with 2 whinning kids. I was really hoping to love Universal but I hear mixed reviews. The Seaworld tickets are free so I thought we would go. We will be there for 8 days minus 2 for travel. I was thinking about ditching wdw because of the expensive tickets but I think I could get depressed without a walk down Main Street USA.

I would do what you've planned and skip MGM and EPCOT. I haven't had the opportunity to do Universal Studios Park, but we had a BLAST at Islands of Adventure. I'm trying to talk DH into going to Orlando earlier than planned in September so we can do IOA and Universal Studios.

I'm sure they will have a great time at Seaworld too.

ETA: Nevermind.
