Ok here is my question. i will be going for 9 days (well really probably 7 park days) I have a 2.5 DS who is not a huge stroller fan, he will get in but not always. I have a 5 DD who loves the stroller and would get in any chance I gave her (but i am not thrilled by that). i am bringing my maclaren volo, which DD fits into as well (she is a whopping 35 lbs).So here is my schedule

Sun - AK - to rent or not to rent a second stroller?
Mon - MK - I need to rent a stroller here - Correct
Tues - BB or TL - possible evening park
Wed MGM Stoller here?
Thusday Epcot or Mk - need a stroller
Friday Epcot and or Mk
Saturday - Whatever my kids want to do - probably MK or Waterpark again

So - do I pay for a weekly rental? Does that make sense or do I just rent day to day...Not sure what to do...Other than Epcot and maybe MK, I am not sure that i need a stroller. Not sure if this makes sense but I am hoping someone out there understands my question.

Hi, I took my 3 girls when they were almost 3, 5.5 and almost 8. We took one stroller and quickly realized we needed one for the 5 year old on most days and even the 7 year old.

We did not need one at MGM. We always needed one at EPCOT, we did get one for AK and sometimes for MAGIC.

They also fought over who got to sit in the cool Disney stroller VS our stroller from home.

I even considered bringinging one for DD 7 when we go at the end of this month but decided to rent one on the really long days.

Have fun!!!

We just got back from Disney with 6 kids - 2-2 year olds, 2-4 year olds, my dd5 and an 8 year old. We rented two double strolers every park and also brought three single strollers. My dd has not used a stroller in years and got in the disney stroller and even the 8 year old got it alot. The double strollers were comfy for the 8 year old and my dd - they are both about 4 feet and 60 pounds. The great thing about the doubles are of only one child is in it, you can use it to hold all the items you aquire over the day! HAve a great trip!

There are two advantages to a multi-day rental:
1) 10% discount on the rental fee
2) After the initial rental, the process for each subsequent rental is faster and more efficient, especially if there are crowds. Rental sites have 2 lines, one for payment (at which you get a paper ticket, called a "rental pass") and one where you exchange the rental pass for a stroller. On the first day, you wait in the payment line and buy as many days as you want -- it doesn't have to be one entire week, it doesn't have to match the number of days you have park tickets for (they won't see your park tickets, it's irrelevant to them!). If you pay for multiple days, you will get that many rental passes in a strip (attached by perforations just like any other kind of ticket). On subsequent days, you skip the payment line and go right to the line where you get the stroller; quick and easy. There were several days when the payment line was LOOOOONG, and there's hardly ever a serious line to actually get the stroller in-hand.

Good tip: Any rental passes you pay for but don't use are FULLY REFUNDABLE!!! I wish someone told me that before I went last year. I eventually sold it on eBay for very little, but I woulda been happier to get a full refund. So you really won't risk anything by, at the beginning of your stay, paying for rentals for every day you'll be there, since you can just get your money back for any unused rental passes. But there is a warning: These passes are paper and are not computerized in any way -- if you lose them, they can't be replaced and you'll need to buy new ones. Also keep in mind that this info is now a year old, as I paid for my 7 day rental on May 8, 2005.

I would plan on renting a double for each day you are in the park. It is not worth saving the money on the stroller if you will have to listen to your children fight and complain. Trust me, we've been there, done that. It was not a pretty sight, lol! Last year we brought our maclaren for my two older kids to share (they were 3 and 5). After a miserable first day at AK, we rented a double for the rest of the days. It was worth every penny!

As the previous poster stated, you don't need to rent for a whole week. Just tell them how many days you need and you can prepay (hopefully they are still offering the multi-day discount). They will give you tickets that you hand in when you pick up your stroller each day. They do not have to be consecutive days either.

BTW, if I were you, I would still bring the maclaren to use around the resort, downtown disney, etc. We were glad to have ours even though we didn't use it in the parks.
