What park would you skip?

Another vote for Animal Kingdom, there is just not that much to do. Its the only park we ever finish in one day. Actually, I can't say I've ever finished any of the others and we sometimes stay for 10 days at a time! AK is nice - I love Bugs Life and Dinosaur but, if I had to skip one there is no question about it being AK.

Another another vote for AK. It just wasnt thrilling for us when we went. Of the times we've gone to dw when ak was open, we've only gone there once. We don't have any desire to go back either.

I would have to go with AK also. we usually go to a couple shows, the lion king and bug show and safari and were outa there :cool1:

Epcot for us. Mine are still young and there isnt anything to do for them there besides going to the princess breakfast! :confused3 I took them to AK for the 1st time in May and they enjoyed it!

AK too, there are some great shows and rides but I can't spend an entire day there like I can at the other parks.

we love animal kingdom and our kids are big animal kids, but that was the one park we skipped this time because we had to choose, and there just wasn't enough of a draw there compared with the other three. especially at 14!
there are great thrill rides evrywhere else. skip AK

Another one for AK. DH, DD, and myself could skip it, but DS loves animals.

We did enjoy the water ride {sorry forget the name. Is it Kali? :confused3 }
And we also enjoyed the safari ride and Bug's Life, but that was it. DS enjoyed the Dinosaurland and Dinosaur ride, but he is crazy about dinosaurs 24/7 and drives me crazy at home with dinosaurs. Sure don't want to put up with them on vaca. LOL!!! :rotfl: I do wish "Lucky" could have stuck around longer until we are going back. DS would have LOVED to have seen him walking around.

It seemed to be hotter in the AK then it was in any of the other parks. On our next trip we will probably go and do those rides mentioned above and then leave. Last year we left AK,went back to the resort to change clothes, and then headed to MK. I sure wish we would have went there instead of AK. We were going to take our last two days and spend them at the MK, but we never got to experince everything the MK had to offer thanks to Hurricane Charley coming our last day.

IT has been decided. My sister and B are going to skip AK. Although he said he did like the Safari ride.

My niece and I are going to go and have breakfast with Donald and enjoy AK for the day.

I need to find a place for us to have dinner that night. Maybe beaches and cream since it will be just her and I.

Wow!!!! I'm shocked at the number of people who dislike AK. This is my family's second favorite park right after MK. I guess it's beacuse my son is too little for the thrill rides. We love all of the street performers and the walking trails are wonderful. I like to take my time at this park and explore the oasis and other things it has to offer.

I would also probably skip AK but only because I/we discovered AKL this past trip and spent a complete enjoyable evening there seeing animals and participating in activities. Also, if you get a helpful CM to talk to you, s/he can tell you all sorts of neat tips to see the animals and etc. Add a PS to one of the restarants there and you are set. I do love AK, but on a hot day, it is a bear (pun intended).

That said, my DD11 loves Epcot and this was the park we chose to go back to on our departure day. She wanted to see all the countries we missed the first day. Epcot will definitely be our #2 choice (after MK) for future visits. I could easily spend two plus days in Epcot.

When you and your niece go to AK, don't miss Rafiki's Planet Watch. Go to Conservation Station (after doing the Safari first thing in the AM) which is next to the Safari, take the train back there and see what animals/birds the Disney vets are operating on/examining, starting usually around 10 am or a little before and lasting for about an hour, sometimes two, depending on what they are doing. This happens every day except Wednesday. While you are there take a look at the live spider/reptile/large bug exhibits...and the butterfly room. Experience Grandmother Willow"s, "Sounds of the Rainforest" and gently interact with some of Disney's smaller creatures brought out every half-hour or sometimes hourly...I especially love the little hedgehog when he is brought out, but there are many other amazing creatures. A Disney animal person brings them out and talks about them and answers questions. Also back there and outside the air-conditioned building is "Affection Section" where you can pet/groom the goats and see canny chickens that cannot be caught, though little hands try mightily lol...btw Affection Section has a place to wash your hands before/after you interact with the animals.

I didn't realize I was going to post so much...but I just saw so many people saying AK was their least favorite park...and I guess I reacted a little bit defensively. What I mentioned above is just a tiny fraction of the experiences that are available in AK. If you have the time to really find many of the secrets of AK, it can be a fascinating park for every age...but not all venues are for every child or adult. Don't miss the bird show though, at any age...and visit the tigers and bats the last hour before close. Attend the "school" in Harambe if you have time.

Go slowly and savor AK...alternate outdoor activities with air-conditioned shows and shops...talk to the CMs found on the exploration trails. They have lots of stories to tell if you have the inclination to listen. That's how I heard the tragic tale of the komodo dragon and the easter bunny...close down the park by walking back to the front with the last CMs to leave the tigers/bats area, chatting with them about what they do and why they choose to do it...and then go to Beaches and Cream for your evening meal...what an absolutely wonderful day you will have!

My least favorite park anymore is MK when it's crowded. People get rude when they get crowded, especially where their children are concerned, which is doubly unfortunate. Give me any park besides a crowded MK.

I would skip Animal Kingdom for a 14 year old. We were there recently with my 14 YO son and that would have have been his least favorite. MGM was probably the favorite with Rock 'n Roller coaster.

ANIMAL KINGDOM!!! Of all 4 theme parks this one just doesn't do anything for me. The paths are narrow,... "you can't get there from here" layout, and, for some reason, it seems hotter there during the summer. Maybe that has something to do with all the foliage that makes it feel more steamy.

I never want to have to ask this question, so all my visits have to be at least 5 days!

We love AK - particularly my husband and I. I love the atmosphere, I really feel like I have left the US for a few hours.

All that said - for a 14yo boy I think it is missable. BTW this will change when they get that Everest ride up. We were just there last week and it looks GREAT! My 13yo daughter is already looking forward to riding it.

I love the Animal Kingdom!! Much better than Epcot IMO. Have a great time with your sis enjoying the fun! The Safari ride was so great! If there's less to do that is surely compensated for by having a lot to look at!

I love Animal Kingdom too! I could never give it up...but for a 14 year old boy I might have to agree. No real thrill rides aside from Dinosaur and that's really minor thrills or as they say in the planning video "hurl factor...not that high"

Im surprised! Just spoke w/my 13DS and he said
he'd skip Animal Kingdom if he had to skip one (first he said none)
EpCot has Test Track and Soarin
MGM has RocknRoller
MK has good rides too

He does like the animals and Primeval Whirl but the other parks are better (in his eyes)

I need to get park tickets for DS and he will be missing one park. My sister is taking him to Universal for the day. While my niece and I will stay at Disney and go to a park.

Which one do you think a 14 year old boy would like to miss? I am thinking Animal Kingdom.

If I had to skip one, it would be Animal Kingdom. My DS 10 just said Animal Kingdom too. It's our least favorite park.

We would skip Animal Kingdom. Last time we were there, it was June and it was hot. While all the lush vegitation adds lots of ambiance, it does not let air circulate. Talk about miserable. We left after half a day and went to the pool at our resort...
