Help me please! We will be visiting Wednesday July 17th from 1pm to close, Thursday July 18th all day, Sunday July 21st all day and Monday July 22 nd all day. I am having a hard time trying to decide which day to spend in which park. I will be bringing my 12 and 16 year olds so we will stay until close and they love the thrill rides but we also want to see some of the kiddie rides that they don't have at WDW. We will be staying on property so we will have access to early admission times. Any advice would be very appreciated!

I do have park hopper.

Oh good! Then you really don't have to worry about which park which day since you can do either or both!

I just saw you are staying on-site. In that case, Thursday is the early morning for Disneyland. Sunday and Monday are early for DCA, so plan to start your days in those parks but then you can hop throughout the day.

We'll be there at the same time, but arriving on the 17th and going into the parks from the 18th to 22nd. We're staying onsite and planning to start off at 7am in whichever park has early entry that day. We like to start out our trip by going into Disneyland and going on Dumbo. On past trips we've park hopped after lunch, which usually makes DS fall asleep in the stroller by the time we pass through the turnstiles to the second park, then I get to go on the big rides while he sneaks in a nap.

For your dates, I would suggest 17th in Disneyland (or DcA if DL is busy because of the anniversary.) 18th start in DL, 21st start in DCA and do carsland this day. July 22nd start off in DL. Take advantage of EE and park hop as much as you like. It's very easy to get from one park to the other.

We always start out at DCA in the morning, (Do RSR on early entry day), then on other days you can walk on Tower of Terror, Cal Screamin, Goofy's Sky School, and Silly Symphony Swings because everyone is trying to do RSR. After a couple hours we then go to DL until around 3:00 when it gets crazy busy. Go back to DCA and get a fast pass first thing for Grizzly River Run, (you'll want to cool off), and then spend the evening there. Other option is DL first thing in morning to do all the Fantasy Land stuff first, then hit DCA after lunch.

Hope this helps!

I agree. The main gates are 100 yards apart so park hopping takes about the length of a Beatles song to accomplish, on foot.

Thank you everyone for all of the feedback. I am planning to go to DL on the 17th and 18th. Then DCA on the 21st and 22nd. My one concern is that we won't be getting to DL on the 17th until around 1pm..Will it be so packed that I should go to DCA instead or will both parks be just as packed that time of day? Does anyone have a touring strategy for DL with arriving that late in the day? Thanks for your help.

The beauty is that you can go to Disneyland first and THEN decide if you want to go to DCA instead ;)

You'll be surprised, I think, by what you can accomplish in half a day. There have been times when I didn't even show up to Disneyland until 5:00 PM and still fit in about a dozen rides along with a dinner and snack (or seven).
