What order to do things?!

Hi all,

I haven't been around for a while but now I'm thinking about our wedding again

I will be calling to book a date/location/time etc early August 2008.

What I was wondering is, what did you book next? Did you book accommodation and then flights, or flights followed by accommodation?! I don't want to use a TA in the UK because I know I can do it much cheaper booking independently - despite it being Value season for Disney, it's the time when all the prices are bumped up over here :sad2:

So, is it best to go for flights then accommodation? In my head this makes more sense logically, but wanted to check with those in the know :D

I'm not from the UK, but I called and had my date penciled in. I then contacted Randy Chapman for photography, and Stvs weddings for videography. I put down my deposits on with them. Then, I contacted Dreams Unlimited Travel and booked out trip for the wedding. Basically, I'm just waiting for Disney to release the Intimate Packages for 2008, so that I can put my down payment on it.

I agree that flights should be first, as there is only a limited amount of flights leaving the UK, but not so limited with choice of accomodation. Also, flights tend to be a little cheaper if you book them in advance.

Thanks for your reply - that is really helpful.

I had forgotten to factor in the timings of booking photography etc, which is crazy as I'm hoping to use Randy as well and I know how quickly you need to book his services!

I booked our flights and hotels last August, then I booked Randy in Sept (15 months before our VR) as we wanted him soooo bad! We paid him a 'double' deposit - $400 instead of $200 as he's pencilled us in for both our date choices, in case we don't get our first choice.
We finally get to know our date in just under a month's time, and it's seemed a very looooooong wait I can tell you!
Have fun planning!
