What order does MS use banked/current/borrowed points?

I have an Oct UY at AKV with 100 points. I've banked my remaining left over 2012 UY points into the 2013 UY.

In Dec 2013, I will be making a trip, using my banked 2012 points and 80 of my 2013 points.

In a little over a month, I'll be making reservations for a June 2014 trip, using 20 2013 points and about 50 2014 points. I won't know for sure until later this October/November if I can make the June 2014 trip.

A few questions as I plan

1. If I have to cancel the June 2014 trip, the 50 2014 points will remain in my 2013 UY, correct? Since banking/borrowing are one time transactions.

2. If I do cancel, can MS use those 50 borrowed pts and apply it to my Dec 2013 trip, so that I will be using my banked 2012 pts, 30 of my 2013 pts and 50 of my borrowed 2014 pts? Then I can just bank the rest of the 2013 points. I am thinking no, unless there is same room availability for Dec. I won't be making any other trip in my 2013 UY, these are my only 2 planned ones.

3. What order does DVC use points? Banked, then borrowed, then current year points? But is that done at the time you check in/out or at the time of the reservation, often 11 months ahead of the trip.

1) - Yes, the 2014 points will remain in your 2013 UY

2) - Yes, on request MS can reallocate the points to include the borrowed points - freeing up the 2013 points to be banked.

3) - MS will usually use banked points first and then current points. Borrowing would only be done with your approval and permission since that is a final transaction. The points are debited from your account when the reservation is made (and returned to the account if a reservation is canceled). It is always wise to verify the status of your account with every phone call or online to make certain the points were used as you wanted. It's a lot easier to correct while still on the phone with MS than to have to call back and speak with someone else. Online is pretty easy since you will verify the points to be used at each step of the process.

Great, thanks for the quick response! I am surprised by #2. But I'm glad that MS will reallocate points without having to rebook, that frees up some stress for me.

Member Services will not autmatically realocate your point for an existing reservation, you need to call.

Also, if the points do not have the same home resort as an existing reservation and the reservation was made more than 7 months out, you may not be able to realocate them. It will Depends on if there are days available.

On the online system says this is the order:

First, the system uses your borrowed Vacations Points
Then it uses your banked Vacation Points.
Then it uses your transferred Vacation Points.
Then it uses your annual allotment Vacation Points.

Note that the system will the Vacation Points in the order that is most beneficial for you. For example, it takes all banked Vacation Points from all selected contracts before it takes any of your annual allotment Vacation Points.

But if you are saving some points for a different reservation to take advantage of the home resort reservation period, you can tell the online system which contracts to use.
