What opportunities has joining DVC given you?

I'm not sure I worded the question quite right, but what opportunities to go/see things have you had since joining DVC that you woudn't otherwise have had? For example, we probably never would have visited Disney's HH if we hadn't joined DVC. We just thought we'd try it, and it qickly became one of our favorite spots to vacation (for DH, it IS his favorite). What have you all done? Maybe been able to visit a certain conceirge location? Take a Disney Cruise (never got DH to consider it, but after seeing the latest commercial, noting how "busy" the husband is, he might change)?

I have long been a WDW freak. HHI and VB have been wonderful additions to our Disney experience.

We also spent time at Grove Park Inn in Ashville, NC (Concierge Collection), which we never would have done. That trip included Shenendoa National Park and Smoky Mountain National Park (As well as the Blue Ridge Mountains). It was all thanks to DVC and was a wonderful vacation.

We're also doing a DCL cruise next year, although my guess is we would have done this anyway.

Another thought...Lots of different choices around WDW. Since I spent lots of time at WDW before there was an "Epcot Resort Area", we had never truly enjoyed all this part of the World had to offer.

wdw is our favorite place in the world! Buying into DVC gives us the opportunity to be excited all the time about our upcoming- or future trips!! To take the Whole Family- or just to go ourselves-
Endless Possibilites!! Its also great to converse with fellow disney lovers on these boards- everyone having their own Plans & Dreams of the Happiest Place on Earth!!!

Sharing the Magic with family and friends....
There is no better feeling, and it is something we could not afford if we weren't DVC members.
In my opinion, we have already gotten our moneys worth.
(This is coming from someone who has 5 years worth of payments left!)

Although we have only used our points at WDW I think that it has been and excellent investment as it has given us the oppurtunity to share. We have taken family who would never have been a ble to afford to do to WDW (even offsite) and helped to give them a wonderful vacation with their family that they will never forget. We have also been able to spend more time at WDW with our own kids that we normally would not have been able to do.

I brought many guests to WDW when we got out tickets for free. The number of guests now have gone down a little but we still enjoy bringing people to WDW. It has given me the chance to spend way more money than I ever would have on WDW. It also has got me to the point where I was sick of the place. Took a trip to Sagamore with points because of I was tired of going to WDW,plus now I have taken a year and a 1/2 off from going down there. I needed the break to many trips to the Happy Place was getting to me. I know I will enjoy it more now with the big break from it I am taking.

We stayed at Vero Beach for a week last trip. It was great. We would never had stayed a place like that (or we would have thought long & hard about it)

We'll be staying at the Grand Californian on our trip there this summer. That's a definite Never would have dreamed of staying there. Well OK I may have dreamed about it - but thought seriously about it - no.

The oppotunity to go on a regular basis without having to budget for a stay since that will already have been paid for. To meet up with others who have since become friends. To be more flexible with our vacations that we could have been if we were paying cash.

We can take really nice vacations for a lot less money. Our DVC is paid for and the airfare, tickets and food is all we pay now. We like to take friends and family with us and the GV's are just what we need. We used to rent homes or condos on vacation and they were never as nice as the Grand Villas. We also have traded to other locations that we would never have gone without DVC. It has been the best investment we ever made. When we retire, I am sure we will be taking more trips and probably wanting more points. That is what DVC does to you-more, more, more!!!!

I happen to love WDW - all ways have - even thought their bad times - now that their are other DVC resorts in WDW besides OKW (DVC) - I find if I want a change just go stay at another DVC resort....

I have stayed in VB and HH - like them - but not enough. I happened to love Marriott's Grande Ocean at HH - very different from disney HH -

I haven't traded for myself - but did for a friend (her wedding gift) to Las Vegas - would I do it again - probably - although I would look at my other resources first....I didn't so that probably was not a wise decision.

Anyway I still love OKW - even after 11 years - it is the best. I also love VWL and BCV - then BWV - don't know where SSR will fall on this list.

DVC had given us something to look forward to year after year. Each year we are taking more than one vacation now. We have met lots of wonderful people thorugh DVC and made new friends.

DVC has allowed us to take longer vacations and fully enjoy all that WDW has to offer (besides the parks). Our vacations are more relaxing and enjoyable. We get to go alone or bring our family and friends. We have also enjoyed HH and VB which we proably would have never tried if it wasn't for DVC.

For us it has affected the frequency and "quality" of trips. My budget would put me in the Moderate resorts once every few years. DVC puts me in deluxe accomodations twice a year!

It has given us the opportunity to take both my parents and my husbands parents with us. I love the frequency of our trips, and also being able to relax and enjoy a trip knowing that I will be back in six months....no more commando trips!!!!!
