We are planning our 4Th trip . We have always stayed at ASM. I have a huge Buzz fan. Our family has out grown this resort and in the past Grandparents or Aunts and Uncles have gone so we would book up tp 3 rooms. So we are thinking Conterey or Port Orleans Riverside . I am just not sure if the extra money is worth the conterry . I have enough But I keep thinking I could use the exrea moneyand stay longer ? Would aprrecaite everyones input . Thanks

IMHO...
I would take POR over the Contemp unless walking to MK is a big enough plus for you. POR is a really nice place with great landscaping, a nice pool and a good food court - and a decent, not spectacular, but decent TS restaurant.
Unlike some of the posts you see about POR, in over 10 stays there we have never had anything but good service, clean rooms, good bus service and have enjoyed it and are planning to go back again.

POR Pluses: Boat to DTD, Family-friendly entertainment in the lounge at night (Do not miss Piano Bob). Cane pole fishing, Bike and boat rental, nice quiet small pools that are rarely crowded.

I prefer the Bayou Section, but there are equal votes out there for the Mansions. Bayou= Shady; Mansions=Stately

I would go with the Contemporary because of the Resort Monorail access, walkway to the Magic Kingdom, more restaurant options and their rooms are among the biggest of the Deluxe Resorts. Now if cost is a consideration have you thought about staying in their Garden Wing room? Those are not that more expensive Port Orleans Riverside, plus they are less then the Contemporary Tower rooms and the least expensive rates among the Monorail Resorts.

I'd pick Contemporary for the walk to MK, monorail to Epcot, great restaurants inside of hotel, ability to watch MK fireworks from CR observation deck, several pools, marina, boat to FW and WL for more restaurant options and not to mention bigger rooms.

Here's the thing... most people who say to pick Contemporary make this choice based on the transportation advantage... and it is very nice for that.

But for us (even though we don't spend a ton of time in the room) we would pick POR over Contemp simply because, to us, it just doesn't have a Disney resort feel. If not for the monorail or view of the MK, you would think you are just staying in a nice hotel offsite. We go for ambience and the true "Disney Magic" over the transport advantage.

I forgot to mention with the Resort Monorail access at the Contemporary you also have more restaurant options at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom. Plus they also have boat transportation everyday from 6:55 AM - 11:30 PM to the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, so you can also eat at their various restaurants.

I vote for POR and a longer stay! POR is beautiful and with a longer stay you can have a more relaxing, slower paced vacation. Have an awesome trip!

I have stayed at both, and while POR is nice, I'd do a garden wing room at the contemporary hands down! queen beds as opposed to full (every little bit helps with little bed-hogs like I have!), bigger rooms (which are, therefore, more comfortable for us), better and more convenient dining options (Contempo Cafe, the Wave, and California Grill are all great!!), walkway to MK, monrail access to parks and resorts, the fact that you can watch the MK fireworks from the resort, and even the non-Disney theme is, to us, a plus!! It has such a nice relaxed atmosphere...we actually enjoy the fact that when we go back to our room we get a break from the excitement! Makes us more relaxed and rested for the next day!!
