Family vacation right after Christmas at OKW. All adults (one pregnant daughter). What are things we shouldn't miss while staying at OKW? Thank you!

One bit of advise...If you get a villa that is far from the main buildings the buses work great. Any bus from your villa will take you to the hospitality house and an "internal " bus will take you back. ( In other words, you don't need to wait for an internal bus to take you to the the HH... pick up the 1st one that comes along .. could be marked for any park or location) It is quick and convenient. You will love it. It is a beautiful lush resort. :sunny:

Thank you for that wonderful advice! So, to clarify, every bus automatically stops at the HH before going on to where the bus is marked? That is really good to know.

We liked the boat rentals, the CM was very helpful & the 'sail' was relaxing.
Linda, captaining the boat to DTD, was very informative ("Just ask away folks!") & taking the boat to DTD & back was a fun way to spend some time while waiting for our room to be ready. Good conversation, & lots of tips, with other DVCers-
don't know if this 'deal' will be around when you are there, but we had the option of purchasing, for $10, a Mickey wristwatch, 2 styles, with every $40. purchase at the OKW shop
the pool has been newly refurbished, don't miss the 'sand castle--er lighthouse--slide--

How late does the Pleasure Island bus come back to OKW? Will have a son taking this transporation late at nite. I'm going to be the protective mom now...is it safe? Thanks.

pretty safe. I think it runs an hour after PI closes. (just like the parks)

what I love about OKW....

the quiet pools - because most of the time they are QUIET!!!!

eating breakfast or late lunch at Olivia's.

having a drink on my balcony.....

enjoying the sunset!

coming back from the parks and feeling like you are a million miles away from everything.....

doing nothing......

;)

I have to agree with Pat's likes and I also like that I feel like I am in a vacation home and not a huge hotel. Even though it IS a large resort, I always feel like we are the only ones in our building. I love the early morning balcony time to watch the sun rise and the golf course keepers getting the greens ready for the day. I love the HUGE Jacuzzi that is much like the one I have at home, so I can relax in it at night before I go to bed or early in the morning before my balcony time. There are a lot of little critters runing wild around the resort, and we like walking about looking for them. We like feeding the birds from our balcony and if we are lucky enough to get a building on the canal, we love how it looks like a southern bayou.

Don't miss the Key Lime Pie at Olivia's...and the boat to Downtown Disney. WE also like the little animals, birds, etc. and relaxing on the balcony. Enjoy! :goodvibes
