I am thinking of stepping outside "the world" in the next couple of years and was wondering where others have gone using their points? Thanks

We went to Cancun (Royal Caribbean) in 2006, for our 10th anniversary. And we're going back this May, because DS really wanted to experience it! Unfortunately, this resort is not available through RCI....which is very sad!

So far, we have visited Disney's Vero Beach and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resorts. We liked both resorts, but fell in love with Hilton Head Island.

We have an annual pass this year, so we are back to WDW. I wish the annual pass was also good at Disneyland, then California would be our next trip. However, air fare is expensive from the East coast to CA, so probably not going to happen any time soon. DH wants to see DCA though.

I'm anxious to hear where others have been.

We stayed at the Grand Californian when we visited Disneyland. Also spent nights at the Whitehall in Chicago, and our daughter and son-in-law stayed at the Royal Garden in London for their honeymoon.

i didnt even think about 'other Disney properties'. We too have done Vero Beach, loved it! And Disneyland, but paid cash for the room because at the time we thought the points needed were too HIGH. Loved both trips and look foward to returning soon.

We have stayed at Vero Beach and Hilton Head.

Back when we used to drive from NJ to WDW we would always set aside a night or two stop at Hilton Head-just love it there!

I've thought about doing this- but is it worth it in the winter? What is there to do in January or February?
Thank you!!

We mostly used to go in the spring months. One year we went during November and planned on just staying one night. Weather was an unusually warm 80 degrees and we wound up staying for 2 nights! We just couldn't bear to leave.

We have done 4 DCL cruises (Eastern, Western, West Coast Mexican Riviera and 11 N. Med. cruise).

Disneyland (when we did the West Coast cruise).

We are going to Cancun (The Royal Sands) this July - DVC exchange - too bad we can't exchange here anymore. I heard they are great resorts. I am a little worried going now with all going on in Mexico.

We will be trying Disney's Hilton Head resort this August.

I am looking forward to start reading hopefully positive experiences with RCI so we can exchange again in two or three years.

Some thinking plans - 4 night Wonder next year and we would love to cruise in both of the new ships as soon as they are out. Can you tell we love cruising.

Disney's Vero Beach (Aug-04 our first DVC stay on "points") and the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland for a 3-night weekend to attend a DVC member event (May-08).

Hi
We own at BCV & BWV
We have gone to Arizona to the all inclusive Tanque Verde Ranch, awesome but I don't think they offer this anymore:sad1:
Went to Las Vegas, not really gamblers but great place to see and shows are the best! Resort not top notch like BCV but nice enough
Went to New Hampshire a ski resort in winter, comparable to BCV,very cozy fireplace.
Did Disney Cruise, Eastern Caribbean, have done other Cruise ships but LOVE Disney's the best
Wilderness Lodge and Caribbean Beach

Have the Western Caribbean booked for this October
All this on trading points plus we get our WDW fix in every other year or sometimes more. Can't beat BCV for Christmas:thumbsup2

we used 143 for a 1BR at the westin in Maui for this October:thumbsup2 seems like such a bargain to me.

That doesn't sound bad at all! :thumbsup2

Burlington? I attended St. Mary's Hall (almost under the Burlington-Bristol bridge) K-5th and part of 6th before we moved to CA. My best friend during those years, still in the area last we spoke, is an Andrea!

Vero
Hilton Head
Williamsburg, VA - Marriott Ford's Colony
New York - The Plaza and The Regency
Miami - The Biltmore
Grand Californian
Disney Cruise Line

That's all I can remember.

We're planning to visit Disneyland Paris followed by a stop in Italy. I wish there were more RCI choices in Italy

We've stayed at Vero Beach for New Years (2008).
We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC, for a week in summer 2008 (part of Concierge Collection).
We're going to Hilton Head the end of this month.
We're going to Disneyland in June.

RCI has two of the Royal Resorts - sister resorts to Royal Caribbean and Royal Sands - guests staying at one may use the amenities at others in the same area. The two I see in RCI are Royal Mayan (#2694) and Club Internacional de Cancún (#2695). The Royal resorts are very popular. So are the Mayan Palace resorts, for more options.

RCI has more choices than II in Italy. Perhaps DVC's list is too limited? Europe's resorts are commonly simpler and fewer are awarded than in the U.S. If you learn of a resort that seriously interests you, consider tell DVC about it. The list changes.

We have used our points to stay at the Grand Californian and Paradise Pier. We have plans to use them to stay concierge at Paradise Pier in the future.
