What Nights for Hogwats Night Show?

We are planning a Disney trip and adding a day or two to Universal in January. I have booked a room at RPR for Jan. 13th, which is a Sunday. What are the odds they will have the night show where they light up Hogwarts on that day? We really want to end our day seeing this show, so just curious if there’s a better day for us to plan a Universal visit to maximize the odds of seeing this show?

It is not on every night all times of the year - during our 5 night trip in May, it was only on 2 nights. Those nights the park was open until 10. The other nights, the park closed early (before dusk) and the show didn't run.

This what I was afraid of. January, like May, is typically a less busy time. What days of the week did the show run on your May trip?

For us, it was on either a Monday and Wednesday night. It might have been on more but that Tuesday and Friday, the park closed early for private events.

Here is the schedule so far this year - you can probably look back to see what days of the week these dates fell on:

7:15 pm – Feb. 7-12, 15-21, 24-26, Mar. 1-3
7:30 pm – Mar. 3-10
8:30 pm – Mar. 11-22, 24-31
8:45 pm – Apr. 1-29
Dusk – May 1-3, 5-7, 9, 12-14, 16, 19, 24-29, 31, Jun. 1, 3-4, 6-9, 10-30, Jul. 1-28

Basically if the park is open past dusk, it'll be running. And the park has been closing later since they started it in general, so chances are good. The studios also has the new night show that started just this week that has a potter section in the second half.

Since the days are generally short in January, there is a very good chance both shows will be running then.
