What new things are you trying this year?

We aren't going till 2015, but last visit 2012. We used to live in Orlando so touring is always different for us. But the new things I will be planning for 2015 are:

1) Meal at CRT (most likely dinner)
2) Ohana Dinner

They will be more, but those are the two that I am planning as of now.

First time for everyone:
staying at Boardwalk
Garden Grill
7DMT
Anna & Elsa ((super excited!!!))

For the first time this trip, I get to meet up with a few of my friends while the parents go to Jelly Rolls. Sweet independence :)

I want to try the silouetts (sp) of the kids. I just watched in on the Disney Father's day add. I have never seen anyone making them. It looks like the make them on Main st. Anyone know where and the cost?

We did this with our kids several years ago. My favorite souvenir of all time! There is a place along Main St., but also another spot near the Christmas Shop in Liberty Square. When they do it, they actually cut two pieces, so you end up with two silhouettes if you want. We got ours in the oval frame, two kids, and I want to say it was only around $25, frame and all. But I could be way off on that!

Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party
Osborne Lights
La Hacienda
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sanaa

New for us this year:

-changing our travel dates to make the Villains Unleashed party (we were set to arrive on 8/24, but might shift a day)

We are arriving in Orlando on the 19th. We had the 24th planned as a day off, and were going to go to Old Towne for the Saturday night car cruise, but are now planning on doing that the following Wednesday, so we can attend the Villains Party. I just couldn't say no to that lol.

Mmmmm .. . . Ohana dinner. Seriously one of our favorite meals in Disney World!

I just re-booked our reservation so we arrive on 8/23 and are staying at YC for that night and the Villains Unleashed party, then we will go on to our planned AoA reservation. I am super-excited, we've never done a party before.

1. Planning
2. Boardwalk Inn
3. Planning
4. 7DMT
5. Planning

We have always been spontaneous at Disney.

We would plan the day and the park prior to our arrival at WDW but we never had a plan after that - even with regard to TS. We never failed to ride our favorite rides several times and always managed to get great TS dining. pixiedust:

Here's hoping the magic continues.

FP+ & MB

7DMR

The Plaza Restaurant

So much planning...we did a lot of 'winging it' in the past, and with longer stays and legacy FP, it worked well. Not sure how FP+ will work for us, we like spontaneity!

We are trying Coronado Springs for the 1st time this trip. We loved POR but i like to try new things so i can offer my opinion to any friends who ask me where to stay. Hope is was a good choice!!

Looking forward to a report on Coronado Springs. It looks nice enough, never tried it though.

We just booked the Magic behind the steam trains tour for our first day in MK this year. This will be our very first tour.

We are going for two full weeks in October, which is our longest trip in general so far, and longest at Disney by far (our one and only trip there was 5 days), so we are going to get to try alot of new things this time that we just didn't have time to do before.

Some things off the top of my head are: Transformers Ride, Diagon Alley, Animal show and Krustyland @ Universal, Busch Gardens, and as for Disney we are going to do Test Track, meet characters, and drinking around the World @ Epcot, Finding Nemo and Kali River Rapids @ Animal Kingdom, Great Movie Ride and Fantasmic @ DHS, and 7DMT, Peter Pan, Carousel of Progress, ETWB, Little Mermaid, the new 3:00 parade,Be Our Guest dinner, and both Jungle Cruise and Space Mountain at night. I also want to explore the Boardwalk area and make a stop at the Ghirardelli Ice cream shop!

Every time i scrapbook a Disney trip i always note the new things we did this time. For example, one time we tried pin trading. I am pretty sure that every trip for the next 50 years i will be able to find something new that we did...hope so.

Great thread! We also like to do something new each time. This year:

SDMT

Harambe Nights

Typhoon Lagoon

Maybe the Kitchen Sink sundae (we plan that every year, but we are never hungry enough when we are in that area)

Just returned from a quick trip but managed to fit in some new things:

Met Anna & Elsa
Met Tink in new spot
Breakfast at Cape May
Rode Seven Dwarfs

In just over 2 months I am heading back for my 2nd mom/daughter trip (DD is 2) and we have some new things planned:

Trail's End
Pony ride at Fort Wilderness
Festival of Fantasy Parade
Spice Road Table
Mickey's Backyard BBQ

After the August trip I count 6 TS restuarants that we have NOT been to. Two of which we are crossing out in October! It's my goal to do them all.

This thread is amazing.

There are some small things I've wanted to do...
-Dueling Piano Bar in Boardwalk area
-New Pirates mini-game in Adventure Land
-Finding DeVine in Animal Kingdom
-Wilderness Explorer Badges
-Backstage Tour in Epcot Future World
-La Nouba

And of course we want to see a lot of the big new things at Disney
-7DMT
-Anna & Elsa

Plus we haven't been to Universal in several years and I want to see the stuff that has appeared since our last visit:
-New Harry Potter Section
-Transformers
-Simpsons
-Despicable Me

Well, first off, I LOVE the name. I do the Doofenschmirz voice for my kids (DD19, and DS10) all the time, and they both crack up over it :)

Thanks, I was hoping this thread would go over well, I really liked the idea of hearing what things people have just discovered / tried for the first time, and I've read a lot of great ideas.

We did a bit of the new Pirate game, it is quite fun!

We saw DiVine last year for the first time. She is amazing.

LaNouba . . . words escape me! You will not be disappointed. The show was unlike anything we had seen. My then 5 year old son couldn't sit still for ANYTHING. At the movies, he constantly needed the bathroom, or popcorn, or soda, or anything just to have a reason not to sit still. He was MESMERIZED by LaNouba, only asking when it would be over one time about 15 minutes before the end of the show.

Mmmmm .. . . Ohana dinner. Seriously one of our favorite meals in Disney World!

I hear that alot, Lived in Orlando for 8 years and was a PH during that time. Never ate at Ohana for dinner or CRT ever. With small kids Ohana was never a option and we wanted to wait till DD was alittle older for CRT. So next time its BBB (which is not a first) and CRT.
