My nationality is American

My ancestors were mostly German, Scot, Irish, and English. Dh's family was mostly English. They've been in KY for nearly 300 years already so I guess it would be fair to add hillbilly as part of his heritage, lol!

My ancestory/heritage is 1/4 mexican, 1/4 Lebanese and 1/2 European (Welsh, German and maybe something else mixed in). Of course my mexican-lebanese half dominates which can be quite interesting in this day and age.

Father's side - virtually 100% English. Paternal grandmother and grandfather were cousins (second).

Mother's side - some from Scotland, a teeny bit of French, and a lot of Native American (my maternal relatives all qualified as minorities). My maternal grandmother was Scottish and my maternal grandfather was mostly Native American. My aunts and all of my cousins are dark, dark hair, dark eyes, etc.
My poor mother was in shock when I came along with white blonde hair, very fair with blue eyes.

You missed Canadian! My father's family arrived in Canada with the very first settlers over 400 years ago. My mother's people arrived there somewhat later. Before that, France and Scotland. The only ones who didn't go to Canada from Europe were some of my mother's people that arrived on the Mayflower and one recent immigrant from Ireland.

Anyways, my ancestory is Scilician, Scotch-Irish, and Native American (Cherokee) on my mom's side; and German, Welsh on my dad's side.

I was going to post the same thing about nationality vs. ethnicity. I always get asked "what nationality are you?" because of my name. When I answer American, they almost always say "no, seriously" and I answer, yes, I'm American. They say no, what country are your ancestors from. I say oh, that's another question entirely!

both of my mother's parents were off the boat from Scotland....my Dad's side is a mix of German/English.......I'm about as WASPy as you can get I get my lovely green eyes from my Mom's side

Another American mutt here. Mom's side Scotch-Irish and Welsh. Dad's side Italian, German, Irish & Swiss. I have medium brown hair and very very light brown eyes almost gold.
DH is Italian and German looks all Italian. Both our kids have dark hair from DH and light eyes (one has green one blue) from me.

My mom is Puerto Rican and my dad is half Puerto Rican, half Italian. I really don't look PR at all. I take after my dad, we look Italian. I totally envy my older sis with her beautiful olive complection! My family always jokes that I'm a fake PR or an imposter because I don't eat the food, speak the language and have never been there! Everyone else in my family does and both my parents at some time in their lives lived in PR.

DH is a mut! He's Italian, German, French, Spanish and recently we found out that he had a great great grandmother who was Etheopian! He totally looks Italian though!

It is hard been British to determin your nationality as often arguments begin as to wether we are British or infact Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish or English as becuase of this I refuse to vote German/Polish/French or European! as I most certainly am none of them!
