I am trying to decide when to go back to the world, I have brought the kids in January/February and now just got back in December, all in value season which I love. I have also been over Christmas and late February but that was just with my DH and will not put my kids through those crowd levels.. not fair for them to wait HOURS in line.. don't think they can do that.

I was thinking September, but the temps seem so high.. hot is not my thing.. BUT Free dining is then so that is good.. I am looking for when there is a slow time to go that will have low crowds and good temps.. any thoughts??
THANKS!

DW and I absolutely love going in May...well we've only been once but we're going again this May because we love it so much! The temps were bearable (~28-30 deg C) but it didn't feel that hot. I'm not sure why but it was different than the dry heat that I'm used to here in Calgary. I thought it was easier to deal with than our heat but I've heard the complete opposite. I probably just wasn't paying attention to it.

We like the beginning of May (very first week in fact) mainly because the kids are still in school, no spring break, no major holidays = no major crowds. This past year there were a couple schools that had "Grad Weekends" but they were bearable. They travel in such large groups that you can easily navigate around them. This year the grad weekends are the 2 weekends before we get there! :cool1:

If you get a chance pick up the 2007 UoG and check out their crowd calendar. Our upcoming trip has one day that is a 7/10 but the rest are 5's and 6's!!! Our past trip was 6's and 7's and we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for rides. Actually, I'm sure we waited longer in line for lunch (because we went at noon) than we did for rides! HTH!!!!

Ditto Tracey's post!

We head down every year in May, it's our favourite time to go. :thumbsup2

We always go for most of the month of September and most of the month of January. I find that the last few years January is not "ride month" for me as the lines are too long and I "don't do line ups!". September is HOT and very humid, but right after labour day are dead quiet. Altough it seems to pick up a little later in the month.

Although being from Ontario, in January I am just happy to be outside in a sweatshirt and don't care so much about the rides, I people watch :thumbsup2

It is funny tho, always thought it was quite hot it Florida in September, but when we got back from the 11 night cruise in September, Florida was cold :rotfl:

I love the last week of April/First week of May. The weather has always been perfect and the parks are not very busy.

The published rainfall/temp/crowed reports in the guide books seems to very accurate in my opinion so if you are looking for the best time you should check these out. I went against it once and chose the 3rd week in June and will never ever go in June again. It was the worst rainfall I have ever seen in my life!

What I'd give to be at Disney for 'most' of any month let alone 2 months every year!

My favorite time (and I've tried every month except January) is definitely the last week of April/first week of May for the reasons other posters have stated. We can't go then anymore with a DD in High School and I miss it so much!

Oh believe me, I appreciate being able to be down so long!! Gotta love DVC

October/November. The weather is usually nice. Crowds managable and it is easy time to get vacation at work.

We have been to Disney in March and July... Both are very crowded and very hot, but that didnt bother us too much. We got there at opening, stayed until 12ish then went back to our hotel (once onsite and once offsite) and took a dip in the pool, washed up in our air conditioned room, ate and at around 4 headed back to the park. We found that to work well... i would like to travel off season (saves us some $$) but its hard to get off work and my DD's are in high school or university so its hard for them to miss school too!

If I could choose anytime to go it would be in Novemeber before American Thanksgiving. Low crowds, mild temps (not to hot, not to cold) and holiday decorations start to go up.

I've been in March 2x, April 2x, May, June 2x. I think Disney is awesome all times of year. However, I do like April very much....about 2-3 weeks after Easter. But again, all times are great times in WDW! S

We have been August and February. We enjoyed our time in Feb must better, less line-ups, not as hot. We are thinking about going again in May-just not sure when in May.

What is 2007 UoG-sorry...:confused3 ??

We went in Nov. the week before American Thanksgiving /04, and last week of Aug. this year. August was HOT, HOT, Hot, and we were there for the only real Hurricane, although it missed us, and we have more wind here on a mildly windy day. We went then primarily because of free DDP.
That said, we booked for Nov/07, the same week, right before Thanksgiving.
MVMCP starts that week, as does the Osbourne lights.
The weather last time was mid-high 70's, only one bit of rain that lasted about 1/2 hour.
Can't wait to get there.

That is the unofficial Guide a really good Disney Guide book with touring plans and it has every day of the year listed with a rating of crowd levels.. worth checking out!

Thanks for the input everyone.. I like the idea of May but it is not practical for us. My Dh gets a big bonus in May it is enough to pay for the entire trip but he gets it the last paycheck in May.. so I would really need that money first to help pay for the trip and get some great spending money! .. when does the free dining start and end? October sounds good too... THANKS!

We went the second week in September in 2003. Kids were in school for 3 days then we flew down to WDW and had a blast!
The place was empty! :) No kidding. We have pictures of the main street that have so few people in it that folks have asked us if we got into the park when it was closed! It was great! Lines were really small. Of course now the food deal is on and it would be even better!
Enjoy the planning!

We went down the second week of Oct., during our Thanksgiving. Crowds were great, weather was hot (only 1 day of rain) and the kids only missed 4 days of school.:goodvibes

:goodvibes

We have been in January and February and they were both good months but in Jan. it was just a little too cool for us. February was perfect and the pools were great to swim in. This time as you can see we are taking a challenge and heading down in March. Will we survive, not sure!!!. My question is I hate to spend all the money and drive all that way and the kids can't get on any rides and they become miserable. I've heard and know we are heading down before us canadians have the march break because I'm taking the kids out of school 4 days early to get into the world 3 days before the canadians head down. I'm a Canadian but hate crowds.
