Does anyone know when in the Fall these rates are released for 2003? I want to book for next Easter, but I hate putting the full rack rate on my charge card. I know you will all tell me, book now, Easter is crazy, and I'm probably crazy for even planning a trip then!!!

AAA, DC, and AP rates? If so, the DC/AAA rates are usually released very late September to early October for the following year. Watch the boards closely around mid-September and you'll be one of the first to know (unless, of course, DC does as they've done this year and continued to add discounted rooms AND actually told it's members about it rather than forcing us to search for the discounts).

AP rates are generally released a few months before the time applicable to the rate. This year, though, they were out in February for June--that's way early. Again, if you're seeking an AP discount, watch the boards--you'll know when they are out.

Then there are all those discount codes. . .check, check, and recheck. . .you never know these days what marketing strategy will be applicable for your time frame when it comes to WDW.

Fixed my typo..specifically I was looking for DC for the Dolphin, though I just got off the phone with them, and I didn't realize that AAA was also 50% off rack rates, can't beat that with a stick (unless you are gov., teacher or nurse).

Thank you again for that info; I will be watching for the release.

AAA rates for 2002 came out in July I believe. I kept calling every couple of weeks all summer even though most CMs said not until fall. One CM had told me they might come over the summer and they did. AAA discounts are never 50% off rack rates to my knowledge. Depending on the season and the resort they range from 10-20% off.... room only, don't know about pkgs. Hopefully some more knowledgable than myself will chime in here.:)

Thank you for the AAA info...maybe the 50% off is only at the S/D.? I'm almost sure that is what the Dolphin just told me this morning, but I have been known to be wrong before. Maybe she meant AP and said "triple A", but I was surprised to hear that.

Have never stayed at S/D... I know they offer some discounts that Dis. owned resorts do not. Call back to verify because 50% is awesome (then jump on it). I think AP discounts are around 40%. I know what you mean about putting the full rack rate on your CC but if it were me at Easter I sure would. I did that for value season at BWI just to be sure then kept shaving the rate down with various discounts as it got closer.

Vicb: I think you were right the first time....I just called Starwood and they were rattling off the 50% off rates, and AAA was NOT one of them.. Either I heard her wrong, or she slipped and said the wrong thing.

Either way, nothing was released this early for next Easter, and I think I am going to take your advice and put the rack rate on the card and worry about the discount later (yikes, just when the bills are rolling in from this month's trip, not good timing).

The swan/Dolphin have different discounts than the Disney owned hotels. AAA may be 50% off. It is usually a pretty good deal, when available. They release their discounts earlier than CRO or disney travel.

I'm sure you can get something if you wait until the fall :)
