My family actually has a time share about 5 minutes from the entrance to Disney, so DF and I are planning on just doing our required 4 night stay for our Escape wedding. We are thinking of Coronado Springs, but are open to other suggestions. Because of the condo, I've never actually stayed on Disney property, so I have no experience with any of the resorts.

TIA for your opinions!

I loved the CS. The entire property is huge but I found it was a lovely walk from our building to the main area. The food court was awesome, I think we ate there more than at the parks.

The lagoon is beautiful, especially with the hammocks available on the beach.

I love POR and have stayed there 6-8 times. For our wedding we are staying at POFQ because it is smaller and I think my mom will like that more. One thing I love the most about these 2 resorts is the boat to DTD. I have never been to Coronado Springs but my cousin has stayed there and loved it. I really don't think you can go wrong with any resort. Have you checked out all the photos on all ears?

I love CSR:lovestruc

The theming at CSR is beautiful and you can't beat their amenities. CSR is the only Mod with deluxe amenities. And the queen/king beds are wonderful.

I also suggest Coronado. We enjoy that the are the only mod with queen beds. We also like Pepper Market, but I think we tend to be in the minority. Also, if you request to be in Casitas 4 or 5 you are still a short walk to El Centro but you get the benefit of the largest "quiet" pool, a bus stop and the fitness center.

POFQ is also wonderful. The only things I didn't like it about it was sharing the bus with the cheerleaders at Riverside. There are only so many cheers you can handle at 8am. :crazy2:

I think POFQ is the most romantic of the moderates, especially if you reserve a king room. :thumbsup2 My best friend and her dh honeymooned there and loved it.

Oh, and if you want something to do one evening, book a twilight carriage ride at POR (it takes you throughout the grounds of POR and POFQ). Dh and I did that on the evening of our 15th anniversary a few years ago ... it was *very* romantic!!

I just told DF this weekend that I wanted to do a carriage ride on our honeymoon. I read about the ones available at the Port Orleans Resorts. We've had a few missed opportunities to do carriage rides since our engagement, and I'm determined to have one on our honeymoon! :)

Thanks for the recs everyone!

We have done the one at For Wilderness and enjoyed it. Terrible but out of all our stays at POR we never have. Guess it might be on the list for later this month.

Honestly, I think all of the moderates are great & you might want to choose based on your preference of theming.

If you are looking for:

Vibrant Tropical beach theming =Caribbean Beach Resort (they also offer pirate themed rooms)

Mardi Gras New Orleans theming=Port Orleans French Quarter (this one is also the smallest so it's easy to get around)

Dixie South & Bayou theming=Port Orleans Riverside (also offers free boat to DTD)

Mexico/Aztec theming=Coronado Springs (also the largest resort and the rooms are a bit more upscale because it caters to conventioners)

Go with the theming that is most fun for you and you cannot go wrong!!:goodvibes

We used POFQ and loved it! We upgraded to Beach Club for the night of the wedding and after recommend it, too!

I would say POR. It is beautiful! I would not recommend CSR. We went earlier this year and were unable to enjoy it. It was a little stressful (there were two parties in two rooms, unfortunately both of our parties were disappointed) :sad1:. Stress is not something you want to add around your wedding date.

I will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort - I have not stayed there before but I love the tropical look to the place. As there will be a 14 of us staying there with a couple of kids we liked the look of the main pool area with the pirate ship for them to play around in.

Love POFQ...romantic and smaller resort. Nice amenities and boat ride to DTD is nice.

Another vote for CSR! That's the one we are using, it has been recently remodeled and it's the only mod with queen beds. The lake is beautiful! :goodvibes

We have DVC but have frequently exceeded our points and stayed at values and moderates as well. I LOVE CBR ! In fact, I keep asking if we can't just stay at CBR instead of the Boardwalk. Not that the Boardwalk isn't great too...I just like the tropical theming and hammocks at CBR.
