What MK area pools are gated?

I know pool hopping isn't allowed but If my husband and dad eat dinner at one of the MK resorts and then want to go sit by the pool and have a drink (while me & DD are at MK) will they be able to do this? I'm not asking if it's technically allowed or not but rather if it's possible. GF, Poly, WL, CR?

Poly is the only one that's behind a gate with a scanner - both the Lava Pool and Oasis Pool. BUT, Tambu Lounge or Trader Sam's (either inside or the patio) are better places to grab a drink there than either pool bar anyway, in my humble opinion. Note the Lava Pool bar does have an "outside the gate" side with a couple of bar stools where you can get a drink, but not really a fun place to hang.

The others are either open or behind a manual gate (no MB scanner).

The new waterfront bar/grill at WL looks like another awesome place to grab a drink as well.

The food court outdoor seating overlooks the pool at the Poly. You could sit there. Trader SAMs is next door. It's a nice place to have a drink.

At CR you can sit by the pool with a drink there are no gates around it plus you guys can walk back and forth to MK. If it rains they can go to the outer rim lounge or even to the california grill bar for a cocktail.

The Contemporary was having pool fences installed in December. So there are gates, not sure if they have turned on the magic band access yet or if it is still on manual mode.

Also the Wave lounge on the first floor is another option. More quiet and better ambiance than Outer Rim.

The same type of fence was installed at GF. Again, I don't know if the gates require a magic band.

Good to know, when we were there 2 years ago they just had the ropes at night time to block off the main pool. We will be at CR again in August and it sounds like we will all need to bring the magic bands to the pool with us.

I could be proven wrong about this if things have recently changed, but I'm almost certain that Poly is the only pool where they have put in MB scanners. To my knowledge none of the other pools, including WL which had a more material fence job a year or two ago, have MB scanners.

In full disclosure, my last trip to WL was 11/16, CR 9/16, GF 2/16.

We will be at CR again in August and it sounds like we will all need to bring the magic bands to the pool with us.

You will need the Magic Band to get back into your hotel room when you are done swimming anyway so best to take them to the pool!

My hubby like to spend time out on the patio or the teens will go off to the pool by themselves, so lots of time we don't all bring the MBs. Of course come to think of it this always led to us hunting for the person who brought the MB down if someone needs to go back to the room. Probably should insist that everyone leaving the room should just bring their MB along

Wear your magic band. Wearing them in the pool won't affect them at all.
