What Meth will do to you...wow

How sad! Why would anyone do that to themselves? :confused3

We are in the meth area for our state. (I think we over overtaken the pot growing title we used to have!) It is amazing how horrid that stuff is and how it effects the whole community. I have to pay higher home insurance rates due to the high amount of fires in our area. I called around to 6 diff insurance agencies and that is the story I got over and over. My argument is that people making meth (and exploding their homes) most likely DONT HAVE HOME INSURANCE!!!!!!!! I cannot imagine what would make people want to try the stuff.

Look at what it is made from: Over-the-counter cold and asthma medications containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, red phosphorous, hydrochloric acid, drain cleaner, battery acid, lye, lantern fuel, and antifreeze are among the ingredients most commonly used.

thaks for the link. I showed it my 11 year old son. I hesitated at first but by the look on his face. I did the right thing. It definatey made the point.

Meth is called the new moonshine in Watauga County, NC. Being a cop there is very dangerous because of the meth labs.

The criminals are actually making portable meth labs which they carry around in the trunks of their cars. If one of those cars gets rear ended, there is an explosion.

Bust 'em and lock 'em up..........for a looonnnng time.

Wow, I once lived and worked in Watauga County, (Boone) NC and am surprised to hear this. Terrible!

That's really horrible - it's such a beautiful area. I love Boone and Valle Crucis.

We had a bust in the trunk of a car not more than a mile from my school. Not long ago, we had an in-service on the meth problem in our area. I was amazed.

GoofyDad869:  I'm about 20 minutes from Maryville

Remember Rachel Whitear?

She died as a result of a heroin overdose.

Here's what she looked like prior to the nightmare:

I won't show the image of her as she was found. If you want to see it, click here for the Wiki article on it.

The photo of her immediately after discovery was released by her family as a warning to others.

Poor thing :(

Meth has become a big problem in Western NC. Thankfully here in the county I live there have been no meth houses busted maybe with the new law it is harder to get the stuff to make it. What is sad about meth is that most people cooking it are using it. I am a Vol EMT and I know that everytime I go in a house on a medical call I could be in a Meth house. I took a class taught by the SBI on Meth labs and it was very informative. I now know what to look out for. I was so suprised to find out in this class that you can find the directions to make meth on the internet. Also you can go to Wal-Mart and spend $200-$250 to buy the stuff to make it and easly make $1200.00. It is just unreal. I feel so sorry for the people who get hooked.

While on a meth high, the user cannot feel pain and thus compulsively scratch themselves on their face and on their arms, literally tearing themselves apart. Some "meth" abusers don't do this though, but it is very apparent in a lot of cases. Really is horrible what this drug is doing to our country.

::yes:: It is pretty bad in Watauga. To make it worse about the labs being in cars is that there are a lot of reckless drivers there who don't care if or what they hit.

I'm all pissed off about the Meth stuff because it makes it so difficult for me to get my Sudafed. When your allergies and sinuses are as bad as mine it is a pain.

Someone else posted a link months ago from maybe North Dakota or somewhere with something similar. What an awful, awful drug.

I am in recovery and have been clean and sober for over 13 years. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank god and my friends and family for saving me from myself. I am very lucky.

The thing that scares me now is that I have three young children and I would be devastated to see them wind up in this state.

I'm not a meth user and don't know of any, but I sure don't like this thread :( :faint: :sad1: :scared1: :guilty: :scared: :(.

Not that I loved the song to begin with, but I'll sure never hear "You're Beautiful" the same way again. How horrible and disturbing those pictures are .

Good for you! One day at a time....
