i checked the menu online. i don't see anything special.
so......can someone tell me what to order there?
what makes mythos so good?
what are your favorites?
thanks, we will be there next month!!

Hi! We've been going to Universal since 2005 and eat at Mythos at least twice on each trip. It's amazing! First of all, it's the most gorgeous place - definitely the nicest of all the theme park restaurants, including at Disney. It's like eating in a mythical cave, with faces and figures craved into the walls, giant sconces lighting the room, and little carved men holding up the banisters. When it comes to the food, it's truly top notch. The open kitchen is really nice since it's fun to watch the chef's prepare your food, which is all delicious! The menu I looked at on Allearsnet.com is outdated. My mom and I are vegetarians and there are always lots of fish and veggie choices available, which isn't reflected on the posted menu. The menu actually changes daily, based on the chef's cooking that day. If you're a meat eater, I had the greatest Chicken L'Oscar (or something like that) back in 2005. I wouldn't eat it now but it was awesome at the time - grilled chicken stuffed with lump crab meat over mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was really good! The salmon is also delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything you order - even the burgers taste better than normal!

I haven't eaten there either, but plan to on my upcoming vacation (in less than two weeks!!!), anyway after being on this board for months preparing for my trip, here are some tips I've read for Mythos. Always ask what their risotto and pastas of the day are, everyone says they are amazing (and they aren't listed on the menu, so you have to ask), also I've read people ask for the pizza of the day as well. Hope this helps a little. :)

To me it is Emmerill quality food at 1/2 the price. Chef Mark runs a good kitchen. The managers work well with Chef Mark. The rissoto and pastabilities is on the menu but what specifically it is that day will change, so ask the wait staff about it and if Chef Mark has any special he is trying out. Some of the best meals i had there never made it on the menu for various reasons. :cool2:

A 1/2lb hamburger with slices of primerib on top and a side of the best o-rings with a soda for under $20,you tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warm Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake..mmmmmmm:lovestruc

Because it has great atmosphere, great food and the prices are half of what you'd pay for a medicore meal at Disney.

...everyone in our party felt the sameway and left very happy. Disney should take note to how can be done at a real price. This restaurant has won numerous awards over the last five years and I would highly recommend dining at Mythos.

That last picture is what I had--Blueberry and Pistachio encrusted pork loin with mac n cheese casserole and cooked spinach with a few cherry tomatoes and mushrooms on the side--it was terrific! and one of their best sellers, for about $15. Boy, was it good. . . .

Way better than Emerils

Because it has great atmosphere, great food and the prices are half of what you'd pay for a medicore meal at Disney.

Yummy:thumbsup2

Steaks were great better than any chain. Asparagus--yum

And that Banana gummy deliciousness?--I've been trying to recreate it ever since I got back home 5 months ago!!

thanks for all the responses. we will definitely go. we will be there next month! do you all recommend going for dinner or will we enjoy lunch just as much?

i prefer going around 2ish or right when they open.
but, that is just me.

when the park has shorter hours, Mythos generally closes at 3:00. (hopefully that will change........)

We are def going to give Mythos a try in Oct. But, can I find a menu online anywhere - just as a taster before we go??
Thanks

I agree with EVERYTHING all PP! It won the Best Theme Park Restaurant award for the last several years for good reason. We are avid WDW visitors and eat at a table service once a day while there so we have tried most of the WDW restaurants. Mythos beats any of WDW restaurants (non signiature). The food quality is always excellent. A $15 dish at Mythos would cost about a third higher at WDW. So not only are you getting a quality meal with great theming, it is also a good value!

Staying on-site do you need to make an ADR for Mythos? At IOA or US? They serve dinner through the evening in July?

Do yourself a favor, walk through the restaurant and check it out, it's beautiful. Then keep walking, the food sucks.

I've never had a bad meal at Mythos. There are a few things I wish they wouldn't have changed though. The first is their french fries and the second is their Caesar salad.
