What makes it worth it to wait in line for Elsa and Anna

Everyone here who has waited in line says it's worth every minute. Why? Wouldn't you rather spend your day at Epcot touring? Exploring? Going on rides? Meeting other characters? Even if your goal is simply to meet them. what happens when you meet then that makes this encounter justified by a 3 hour wait in line?

Not everyone has the same opinions about Epcot. I don't care for much of Future World and really just love wandering around WS. By the time we were done with their M&G, the WS was opened.

They are really good characters. I think they realize that people have waited a long time to see them, so they are a bit more interactive than some other characters can be, especially with children. Plus, I'd imagine for most parents, it's worth it to make their kids happy. I saw some beaming little faces coming out of that meet.

The line never bothered me anyway:rolleyes1

It depends on your reasons for being there. Personally, we are taking DD4 to Disney. This trip is solely about DD. She is Frozen obsessed! We are only hitting AK, MK, and added an extra day just to go to Epcot to meet Elsa and Anna. It will be completely worth every minute just to see her meet them. Just like it was completely worth standing in line for my son17 to meet Buzz, his hero, when he was 5. Or to be the only one around Hercules and the two of them talking about Pokemon. In the instance of characters, it really is all about my kids for me.

Exactly what I was going to say. What makes it worth it for most people is seeing the faces of their children as they experience the interaction with the characters.

As The Dad, my job on vacations is simple: create memories for my family, and put a smile on my kid's faces.

I'll gladly wait anywhere from 1 to 8 hours to seem them light up when they meet Elsa and Anna. This vacation isn't for me... If it was I'd be scuba diving somewhere in the Pacific!!

With that said, I just snagged an 8:00am Akershus reservation, so I'll just pay the $10 no show fee and hop in line before they let everyone else in. Sorry to those of you who wanted that reservation so you could actually use it, but Dad's gotta do what Dad's gotta do.

Ditto worm761, we're going specifically as a surprise for my DD1's 5th birthday so whatever she wants to do, we'll do! She LOVES Frozen and Anna and Elsa, and I can't wait to see her face when she gets to meet them. I will do anything for my children and make memories for them, 3 hour wait or not. :) Crazy? Yes. Worth every minute? Absolutely.

Is this an actual question or a "you're silly for doing that" comment framed as a question?

It's pretty obvious to me. If someone wants to wait in that line they clearly would not rather be touring Epcot, exploring, going on rides, or meeting other characters. They prioritize meeting Anna and Elsa. I personally would not wait that long, I wouldn't wait over 20 minutes to meet a character, but that's just me. For some people Anna and Elsa is right up there in importance with seeing the castle. Nothing wrong with that.

This is why....no, it's not worth alot, but it's all I need:

Honestly, the line wasn't even that bad. We waited (in total) 2 hours and 15 minutes. But, our daughter had spend the morning at the Perfectly Princess Tea with my mom while my wife and I sat in line. We immediately made friends with the people in front and behind us and took turns going to grab snacks and drinks from other countries throughout our wait.

As it turns out, two of the people behind us are from a town about 10 miles from where we live and another (who now lives in kansas city) went to the same high school as my wife in New Orleans.

Warning: ramblings of an adult character hunter ahead!

A lot of people, including myself, have emotional connections with these characters. Many of the kids in line have siblings of their own, and they might have had problems communicating just like Anna and Elsa. Maybe some kids want to meet a bubbly friend like Anna, or they want to give Elsa a warm hug because the poor girl didn't have much love in her life.

Me, personally? I waited because they're just fun characters. In general, I find that meet and greets with two characters are more enjoyable than meets with one. The two bounce off each other and you can get some great interaction.

I wore a blue top with transparent sleeves to meet them, and in response I got a silly little story about Elsa's dress-making powers. Apparently she tried to make a gorgeous ice dress for Anna too, but the poor girl froze. Anna did the frozen dress waddle and it was so cute! On another pass by the gift shop later, I witnessed Anna on the floor playing toy cars with a shy girl while Elsa cheered her on.

So...yeah. Those kinds of memories are really special to a lot of people.

All that people need to know is that for every person standing in a character line, that's one less person ahead of them in line for their favorite attraction.

We have little ones so right now our trip mainly focuses on meeting the characters. I have a princess obsessed soon to be 6 year old. She dressed as Anna for Halloween and was in love with her well before the movie came out (thankfully because I was able to find a lot of Elsa dolls and merchandise before the craze hit!).
We have waited for Rapunzel and also Merida so I am ready to wait to make her dream come true (she told me when she found out we are going back this summer that she would be "devestated" if Elsa and Anna decide not to be at Disney World when we are there).
I will do whatever it takes to let her have her wishes (luckily I snagged an 8 AM Akershus breakfast on a non-emh day so that will help greatly!)

Awesome pics @LSUfan. I can't wait for my daughter (5) to have that opportunity in a couple months. She literally squealed this morning when my wife told her that Let it Go won an award last night. She also was really impressed that the person on stage sounded a lot like "the real Elsa" when singing it ;)

I can't wait to hear Elsa's response to all of her questions. "You only have Frozen powers in the movie and not real life, right?"
