What elements of your Disney wedding are what makes it "Disney" to you? For me there are a few things I have my heart set on, and if they have to get cut out for budget reasons, I may as well just get married elsewhere. I just don't think I could bear cutting them out.

For me its:
My prince charming (of course)
Dessert party in wedding attire (I just LOVE the thought of this moment)
a MK photo shoot in wedding attire (I MUST have this) & hopefull AK shoot as well!

What is it for you guys that is most important element that you are swooning for?

There were three things that I had to have! I wanted to have Mickey and Minnie @ the reception, Cinderella's coach, and pics at MK and maybe Epcot! But then I realized as long as I have my DF then everything will be great no matter what I have or don't have!

All I really cared about was marrying my wonderful hubby, but all I wanted out of my Disney wedding was to be at Disney. We both fell in love with the Wilderness Lodge and we knew it had to be there and beyond that it was probably the least Disney Disney wedding there ever was! :rotfl: I had Mickey/Minnie chocolate favors and our violinist played Disney songs during our cake cutting, but we had zero interest in characters, dessert party, or the MK photo shoot. I guess if I'd had it at the WP I would have wanted Cinderella's coach but I didn't miss it or regret not having it. The day was completely perfect and magical :cloud9:
I think that is what makes DFTW so great - every bride can customize it to what she wants, including more or less Disney themes. They do such an amazing job with weddings! I'm glad we had our day exactly how we wanted it!

I think just being at Disney is enough! When we did our Escape, it was the location (Sunset Pointe across from the castle), Disney songs with the violinist, Mickey jewelry and a Mickey/Minnie cake topper...

But, when we went all out for the party, I have to admit that the fireworks, the coach and Mickey and Minnie were pretty cool for me!!

For me it was the Wedding Pavilion. I love having pics with the Castle in the background!! Doing a fireworks event was also really high on my list. I LOVE fireworks. When we were originally planning a WIshes wedding, we were going to do an Illuminations reception, when we switched to an escape we thought about doing an Illuminations DP, but wound up with dinner at Narcoossee's and a Wishes cruise instead for less money! Plus Wishes is my favorite, so that made it that much better!

I guess mine is quite different.... for me it's just being in Orlando!

My fiance and I just love the idea of a Disney wedding. We wanted it at Cinderella's castle and once we learned of all the restrictions we basically said no thanks.

However, we were determined to still have a "Disney wedding" and we totally are -- everything about it is princess-like and the subtle Disney theme in the favors, etc is still there. Best of all, it's a little over a mile from Disney at a beautiful resort with no restrictions at all. Yes, it it 100% just as expensive, but we totally feel we are getting more for our money. From the rehearsal dinner to after wedding breakfast, our resort just rocks with customization and no minimums. Plus, we were able to choose all our own vendors and we also like that all our guest are going to stay at the same resort. It's 100% been just as magical thus far! Hopefully, it will continue to be too!

Then, after all the wedding festivities are over, after the weekend we are moving to Disney property to stay there and enjoy the parks, etc.

Of course marrying my new DH was the most important thing - BUT - we would not have wanted to get married at Disney without having an IllumiNations Dessert Party.

ITA with Linda - the dessert party. And all the little things that makes it an event - like the boat to the ADH!

For me the most important thing was getting married at the WP. Growing up, I always stare at it while we passed it on the monorail, dreaming I could get married there.

Having the reception at the GF was also high on my list, and the MK pictures. To me, those 3 things are what made my wedding a Disney wedding for me. :cloud9:

Oh Meg - are you going to do the boat. I would have loved to do that but we were staying in Epcot for extra pictures and I figured if we were paying for the boat I wanted to make sure we were able to use it - not just our guests. I guess we could have done the boat just for us - and had our guests out on the balcony of ADH when we pulled up. That would have been great but we were already paying so much for transportation as it was.

For me just being inside WDW makes it for me. When I was little apparently I wanted to get married in the castle. There are a few things that are important to me to have at my Disney wedding:
Mickey Mouse
Prince Eric (from The Little Mermaid) or Beast (DFi will have to do)
My favorite Disney foods
A great Disney theme (Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice)

If we could get it, a Disney bus for trasportation or the monorail. That purple bus to us is perfect or a DME bus.

This is totally off topic but I was just wondering if you ever met with Flourish and if that is who you were using, I just  Brian!

For us I think it was the Cinderella Slipper dessert, our dessert party, and the Wedding Pavilion with the castle in the background. I wanted a beautiful wedding at Disney, not a Disney wedding. We didn't really have too many Disney themed things but we did have a touch of Mickey here and there for whimsy. Everything turned out perfect!

They FINALLY got back to me after my planner started hounding them! LOL. We are going to use them for part of our flowers and then another florist for the others.... we loved them both and couldn't decide -- how bad is that!?

Make sure to get the assistants email, when I had only Brian's it would take forever for him to get back to me because he is so busy doing weddings, but Jane is the secretary and is awesome and gets back to you in a flash!

OMG thanks for the tip! I had no idea they even had one, it's funny, I told my fiance a million times they need one desperately because he NEVER got back to me! Thanks for the info!

Linda

I totally agree with Linda, when DH asked me the one thing that I couldn't live without when we started our planning and I said without a doubt I wanted to incorporate Disney fireworks (more specifically Illuminations) into our wedding day pixiedust:

Our VR is in Nov. and for me what makes it a Disney wedding is having the ceremony at the wedding pavilion, having Cindy's coach, having Mickey at the reception, and watching Wishes from our reception location(White Hall Patio). All things I can't live without and all things that I couldn't have elsewhere!

For me, it will really just be getting married at WDW-I can't even fathom how magical it will feel!!!:goodvibes

I don't care much about anything else except maybe the Mickey & Minnie cake topper!!
