I'll tell you what, honest and good-natured exchange of ideas, opinions, and (occasionally) facts. And the glue that holds that all together is the fact that many of the posters are willing to discuss things rationally. This is not to say that we don't disagree from time to time, but we can agree to disagree, and sometimes we actually concede to each other over matters of fact v. opinion. In the past, there have been posts in which "Poster A" posts a rumor, or some observations and speculation, and "Poster B" presents a slightly differing opinion (not necessarily polar opposite, just different) and well established facts to back up said opinion. "Poster A" would read, digest, and post something along the lines of "I stand corrected", "Maybe you have something there.", or "Let me restate." Perhaps "Poster A" simultaneously changes "Poster B"s opinion or view slightly, or perhaps it's just a clarification of numbers. Usually the latter, but whaddayagonnado?
That kind of dynamic, mature discussion--I think-- is what makes this board (along with others on this forum) enjoyable for many, be they regular posters or lurking guests.
That being said, it is very frustrating to post a clarification of facts (especially when there is no opinion attached) and have the other poster write you off; Basically saying "those facts don't support my argument, so they don't count." I think we've all been there (sometimes on both sides). I think that the main reason for such writing-off is that "Poster A" has an axe to grind, and really doesn't care what the facts are. This kind of thing can be witnessed daily in the editorial section of your local newspaper, and it's frustrating no matter where it occurs.
Let's try not to go down that path, the path of "Well, if you were a TRUE Disney fan". Let's avoid the proverbial I-care-more-than-you spitting contests that really amount to schoolyard behavior. Let's keep this board a fun, stimulating, mature exchange of ideas.
I think that's something that even "The two Jeffs" could agree on.

Kungaloosh!
