This is sooo hard....I love everything Florida has to offer, but the top 5 what springs to mind is..

1, The smell & the heat once you step off the plane.
2, Magic Kingdom on your 1st day of Disney.
3, Food, large portions, just can't help it.
4, The weather.
5, Just being there!!! Simple! :)

The Welcome to Walt Disney World sign as you drive into the Disney property.

The sunshine, (ohh yeah)

Waiting for the Big waves to smash over you at Typhoon lagoon.

Dunkin doughnuts ( ohh yeahhhhhhhhh)

Early morning arrival at any of the theme parks but particulary the Magic Kingdom. The smells, the warm sunshine on your face, the happy smiling faces of those that are around you and the knowledge that you have a full disney day ahead.

The list could go on and on

:D

So hard to pick just 5...could do 50 easily!!

1. Disney but in particular MK on the first day
2. Perkins' muffins
3. Fruit Smoothies at DTD
4. The weather!
5. The whole package - including the friendliness you are offered when you're there.

What a great thread. I'm going to move it over to the community board:)

1. My 'home' Boardwalk Villa's
2. The Sunshine
3. Being able to laze around the pool.
4. Characters :)
5. Eating and drinking around the world in EPCOT

:)

Well, I'm definitely with those of you who've mentioned the Florida 'smell' (as my girls have called it for as long as I can remember) as you step off the plane.

That "I'm home" feeling of familiarity we now get when driving from the airport to our accommodation.

All the parks (Disney and Universal), but especially Epcot - the sight of Spaceship Earth, World Showcase, the International Food and Wine Festival (probably my favourite thing of all) and the fountain in Future World. You know these trendy relaxation techniques which ask you to imagine yourself in a place where you feel comfortable and at one with the World and to feel the sounds and smells? My 'special place' is standing watching the fountain display, hearing the music and feeling the Florida sun.
:)

Lazing in 'our' villa jacuzzi with a glass of wine, the 'children' (now 19 and 16!) laughing and playing in the pool.

The monorail on our first visit of each trip to the Magic Kingdom.

They're just the first 5 to spring to mind, but not necessarily a 'top 5'. Day dreaming about Florida is my number one escape - I could probably list a thousand things!
:teeth:

Cath:)

5 is very hard. My favourite pre- arrival thing, is my wife saying "Dont wear that, wear something you are not taking to Florida!" So we dont have extra washing & ironing to do. It always seems more imminent then. Are we the only people that do that?

1. Having a Becks in Germany at Epcot. When my wife & I honeymooned in Orlando, we had some of our wedding pictures developed in the States. We had our first look at them sitting having a beer in Germany. A bit sad I know, but it makes us remember how really happy we were. (And still are, god I am getting a soft old s*d)
2. Entering Disney Property under the entrance sign on the road from our Condo.
3. Seeing Cinderella's Castle as you walk down Main Street.
4. Splash Mountain. We must have been on it about 100 times.
5. Discounted Designer Labels

Is that it, I can think of at least 25 more.

1 I should have added to my list - cheetos *drools* I had about 3 bags of those near the end of our holiday, they're delicous!! Will have to bring some back next time :p
