What laundry soap is your favorite? And, other laundry questions...

I was surprised that the Queen of clean recommended Purex only because it is one of the least expensive ones out there. No other reason. It was really refreshing, actually, that an "expert" recommended something that was not expensive. I use it sometimes, too. I buy all different kinds, but I haven't noticed a huge difference yet, that's why I wanted to know what other people like, and why. With certain products I just HAVE to spend the extra on the name brand because it is far superior---like Cascade dishwasher detergent. It works really great....other cheaper brands I have tried, because I had a coupon, left terrible spots and such.

I tried the
Arm and Hammer kind once and it made me itch, too. I was really surprised because I use baking soda on hives, to stop the itching. Doesn't that have baking soda in it? That was strange.

Thanks for posting. Any more great laundry advise?
Oh. Any time I've had a sample of other laundry soaps, they didn't do anything spectacular. So why use them. Cascade? I gave up on them. LOL! I switched to Electrasol tabs with the little blue thing in the middle. I LOVE them! They're fun. LOL! I have no life.

DS brought his laundry to the washer the other night. Here was a school shirt sitting in his hamper for how many days with red stuff all over the front of it...chambray blue shirt! :earseek: I don't know what it was! I used some spray and wash stain stick on it and washed it in Purex. Got it ALL out! :Pinkbounc

We use Tide liquid in our house. I grew up with Tide and DH grew up with Tide so that is what we bought. When we were first married almost 18 years ago I thought lets try something cheaper, we did a few times and ended up going back to Tide.

For stain removal, I swear by Tide and a stain stick called Magic Wand, it truly is the greatest...takes out chocolate that has been washed and dried, blood, ink, grass stains, etc. It is the best stain stick I have ever used.

We use Original scent Tide powder. Works the best for us, I have used the liquid too, but doesnt seem to do the same as the powder , not sure why. We have used the others like Purex and Gain, but DH started itching from the Purex and didnt like how his uniforms smelled in the gain  I love the scent of the Tide powder, so weve come back to that, besides my daugter spilled hot chocolate all over her brand new pure white dress shirt she had on for her orchestra concert and Tide got it out!!!! Didnt even have to use a pretreat at all. Whew. I used to work with a friend who used AJax clothes detergent and she always smelled so good. Im not sure if they make it anymore or not though. It cleaned good too, I worked in the bakery then and came home all greasy and smelly from the oils and stuff, and we wore white unis and hers was always pristine.

I use Purex and it works GREAT!!!! I also use the dye free/scent free version of it for my kids. I can't stand all those strong perfumy detergents!!:crazy2:

I honestly think Tide works best, but it doesn't work twice as good as what's on sale! I have found that pretty much all of them are okay if I load the washer loosely -- I have three boys and lots of laundry, so it's always tempting to throw in a few more things.

Right now, I'm using liquid Purex bought BOGOF with a doubled coupon -- paid approxmately $1.50 a bottle.

I use whatever is on sale, and see nodifference in any of them.

In terms of stain removal, I use Simple Green or OxyClean, depending on the type of stain and garment color.

We use Tide, smells great, suds up great, and gets out stains great. I'm using Cheer ( Target was out of my favorite Tide ) this week and have been happy, I have no complaints about it so far. I also use Clorox 2 to boot.

I use Tide, original scent. My mom always used that. Everytime I try to change to something cheaper either I break out or my DFiance does... no matter what it is.

I also use Clorox 2 with it... tried Oxy clean, didn't see a difference......

We use Tide. Gotta be product sensitive ::yes::

I like Gain, too. It smells good. I used to use Surf but can't find it anymore.

Surf became an All product. Look for the All jug with the wave on it and thats Surf. I am not sure if they changed the formula or just the package, but I know we had to check and let them know when all the Surf was shipping in the All package several months ago.

Most grocery store brands like Publix are really a more expensive name brand. (Tide)
If you ask the store manager what company makes what for them they should know.

Publix brand salad in the bag is made by Kraft.
Publix soda is actually made by RC (Royal Crown)
Publix salad dressing in the jar is the same as Miracle Whip.
Their OJ is Minute Maid.

I personally like Gain with the Bleach alternative. The clothes always smell so nice after they have been washed and dried.

I use Dreft or Baby All b/c of allergies. I used to use Tide and Bounce but started breaking out in hives really bad and the allergist made me switch. If I us any other detergent I have to run an extra rinse cycle and absolutely can't use fabric softener at all. The one good thing though is that baby detergents seem to get stains out better than any other detergent I've seen.

I use Tide. My cousin is one of the Chemical Engineers responsible for making the bubbles (as she put it).. Her part is with the powder formula not the liquid. I just try to make sure she has a job.

Has she told you about the new Tide with fabric softner in it? Smells sooooooooo awesome!! DH is allergic to Tide so I usually buy whatever else is on sale.
