What kind of turkey do you buy? I usually get Butterball. This year I tried Honeysuckle White and I really hope I don't regret it.Has anyone else used this brand?

Well I was going to brine my turkey this year, but didn't want to deal with the mess. So I got an Empire Kosher turkey because it already has been brined.

I'm doing a recipe from Giada De Laurentis from food network. It's citrus and herbes de provence. Sounds yummy!

Hope your turkey comes out good!!!

I'll be brining mine. It's Emerils recipe from a few years back

We get honeysuckle white most every year. They always turn out delicious for me. My theory is that when you feed the turkey a whole bottle of wine, he's a happy bird and will turn out moist ;)

I've done Honeysuckle White before, it's a good choice. I used to do them or Butterball most of the time until we moved back to Minnesota. Here in MN, Jennie-O is the big brand; got a 22 pounder in the fridge thawing right now!

Honeysuckle White is the most expensive around here. I got a Norbest. Honeysuckle white has always been good when I've gotten the breast only, I like to grill them in the summer.

I bought a jennie.O turkey breast, since my family eats only white meat, a whole turkey would of been a waste for us.

All the grocery stores in our town give free turkeys, so it's basically their brand (which I'm okay with cause they're good). You must spend X amount of money during such a period of time to get the turkey though. We have 2 major grocery stores and we spend X amount in both stores. So.....2 free turkeys.

ButterBall fresh turkey. My mother is coming over and we are doing the cooking together (maybe we can even get my dd to help!) while my son's Great Aunt entertains him. I love Thanksgiving- the smell of turkey and stuffing in the oven while the parade is on.... :goodvibes

I bought a 20 lb Butterball. My family's favorite.

I've been looking for this turkey and cannot find it. NO ONE sells them. I even made a 40 minute drive to Wegman's and was hugely disappointed.

We ended up with a Shady Brook Farms fresh turkey which will probably be as disappointing as all the rest of the various brands.

Store brand this year. Publix turkeys have a good flavor. I usually order a fresh turkey from a specialty market. But it is just DH and I this year.

One year I got one from Wild Oats--a free range, fresh bird. It tasted WONDERFUL! Not sure of the brand though--it was the same brand as the chicken they sell in the store.

Glad to read people like the Honeysuckle White...they were 39 cents a lb. at our food store and for that little amount of money I was a little concerned!

We usually have a Butterball so we will hope for the best with this one. Gobble Gobble.

I get an organic free range fresh turkey from a local poultry farm. Tastes so good and cooks faster. Only downside is the price.

The best turkey I've ever had was a fresh kosher turkey from a kosher butcher. It was absolutely amazing and cost a fortune. My dad is doing the turkey this year and he's doing butterball.

If you brine it...put it in a big pot with water to cover and plenty of salt...it should be very flavorful. My family traditionally bought the turkey from a local turkey farm, but a few weeks ago we made a turkey (sort of a test run, and also because DH won't be home for Thanksgiving) from Plainville Farms. It's an organic bird, but not free-range. We brined it overnight, and I would have sworn it was a turkey from the farm. Very flavorful and very moist. We're breaking tradition and having another for Thanksgiving.

Good luck with yours!
